Upon returning after my bath, I entered the empty dining area, where the aroma of the food still lingered in the air. Though the pangs of hunger still tormented me, I settled on the couch, peering at the main entrance of the apartment.
‘Since Tobias affirmed that he would be going to the Beauchamp estate after dropping the kids at school, I guess I shouldn’t be expecting any company,’ I muttered, rising from the chair to get to the main door.
