There were poor and had three mouths to feed yet father Su spoilt the original host.
Father Su and his son will eat dry cornbread or porridge while the original host will eat expensive snacks.

After Su hao and Su yize assisted Su ping ping inside, Su ping ping slept while the two men went to the farm.
Two hours later, Su ping ping woke up. Judging from the gradually darkening sky she deduced they it was around six o clock. She changed out of her red wedding dress and went into the kitchen to cook. There was a bag of sweet potatoes lying at a corner of the kitchen. She opened the cupboard and found a jar with only three handful of rice in it. She made a bowl of porridge, and roasted sweet potatoes.
Immediately she finished cooking, Su hao and Su yize returned from the farm.
They were both stunned when they found out Su ping ping cooked. The original host never entered the kitchen to cook . They were scared to eat the food but when they finally tasted the food. they were surprised to find that it was delicious. Although it was just porridge, it was thick and she added some wild vegetables she picked behind the house into it.
When they finished eating, Su hao called his daughter to his room to speak with her.
"Daughter, dad has good news for you."
