Tears of an Alpha

Chapter Ten

There is only one option, the one that doesn’t affect anyone. I caused this, so that being said.

“I chose the third option, I am willing to sacrifice my happiness for hers. That is my final decision.”

“So, it shall be then.”

Before anyone can say anything at all, a bright light engulfs us. There is complete silence. I look around, but I find nothing but empty space and white light.

There is then a translucent golden ribbon coming out from my heart and leading towards Emma, I see Emma. She is there, but not. It is hard to explain. The gold thread is leading to her heart, but after a second it falls, no longer tethered to her, it hurts, my heart breaks and tears flow from my eyes, I see Emma scream, but there is no sound. I see her pass out, and then she gradually disappears. The light then becomes dimmer, and things come into focus, a bed, I am in my room at the mansion, everything looks normal.

Alex then links me, I tell him that I am awake and to come and see me. I look down to notice that I am wearing my sleep shorts and a vest, so strange, has it worked, am I back?

Before I can think anymore on it, there is a knock on my door, Alex then enters.

“Morning Alpha, I am sorry to come this early, but I need to discuss tonight.”

“What about tonight, Alex?”

“Emma? I do not think she is Bad, can we look into this more before taking her?”

“Emma?”

“Yes Alpha, do you still want me to lead her out to you at the Dance tonight? I think it is a mistake.”

It worked! I can't believe this is real.

“You are right Alex, she is not who we think. In fact, we need to see her parents, now.”

“Ok Alpha, not that I’m complaining, but what has changed?”

“Emma, my dear Alex, is not human or a hunter, she is one of us, however, she is unaware, her parents saved her from a bad group of hunters that killed her birth parents for sport, the couple came here with Emma to get her comfortable around us before being honest about what she is. I will explain more on the way to their cottage.”

When we arrive at Emma’s home, I get really excited to see her, Alex is filled in about what I plan to do.

We will move her into the mansion with us, there Emma will get to know about everything and train to be ready for the change. I will also mention her parents, but I will not tell her about our bond, or lack there off.

Gina comes out when she sees us, there is a look of panic on her face and then her husband stands beside her, with the same look. I am sure his name is Eric.

“We are not here to cause problems Gina and Eric, is it? I am here to help. I know your story, who Emma is, what she is. I know everything. We can move her to the pack house, which is the mansion, there she can get to know all about us.”

They both look at me with shocked expressions.

“We will have to talk to her first, she is not here until later. How did you find out?”

“That I am afraid is a long story, just know that no harm will ever come to her, or the both of you.”

I then see a car pull up, Daria got out carrying a lot of shopping bags, the Vampire gives me a death glare, but all I do is smile. I then look toward the car and see a beautiful sight.

Emma, she is beaming, how could I ever think bad of her. I cannot look away, her smile is mesmerising.

Alex walks over to them both and a little pang of hurt hits me as I remember what the Oracle said, she will never be mine. This beautiful woman can never be with me.

Gina calls them both over and introduces me, all of us are invited inside to talk. Daria and Emma take all their things upstairs, which gives me time to prepare.

There is an uncomfortable silence between the four of us until Eric offers us a drink. After excepting a beer, we sit. It does not take long for the duo to come and join us. Gina puts some cookies and cakes on the table and gives the girls some drinks. Hot chocolate by the smell of it.

Everyone just looks at each other, not knowing where to start, so Alex breaks the ice.

“Looks like you are moving Ems, we have a place for you at the mansion, almost all the students live there, and this man here takes care of us all. Much like a student centre, it is a great place to stay.”

“Yes.” I then add.

“You will be closer to the school, and we have a lot of outer school activities. We also allow pets, well dogs, no cats.” I tell them this remembering Star, I’m hopeful that it’s the push she needs. After a while Emma finally speaks.

“Mum? Are you wanting me to leave?”

“No baby of course not, if you don’t want to go it’s fine, but it sounds like a great place to meet friends, and Star can be with you, I will miss you like crazy, but I think its just the thing you need.”

Daria looks at me confused, so I text her.

EMMA IS A WOLF WHO WILL BE CHANGING ON HER BIRTHDAY

Daria then nods discreetly and comes to our aid.

“Sounds like fun, the group that live there are nice, all over 18 have their own floor, and Alex lives there, so you have someone you know, I also visit a lot, so we can see more of each other. The grounds are huge, so Star will have a lot of freedom, and we can build her a massive kennle for when you're at school.” I smile at Emma hoping to reassure her, I am rewarded with one in return, which makes my heart beat faster. It takes a while until the silence is broken by her words.

“Ok.”

This is it then, the start of a new beginning for my Allora. The piece of my heart that I will never get back. This is all for you, Emma. I will make sure your life is amazing in every way.

As I am offered another beer, the girls go to get ready for the dance. Sunday she will come home to us. I do need to ask Gina and Eric why Emma has no scent yet, although I am sure it must be some kind of cloaking spell or potion of some kind. Witches often work beside hunters, so it makes sense.

I was too angry before to even notice. ‘Alpha Apollo, you need to do better.’ I tell myself.
