JOE AND NATHAN RECONVENED at the station bright and early Thursday morning, and Jenkins joined them at the coffeepot then walked with them to Joe’s office. “I have the list of female family members for the remaining eight men,” the young officer notified them. “Did you start a cross-check against the purchase lists?” Nathan asked. “I was just about to,” Jenkins grinned. Meanwhile, Joe noticed the flashing light on his desk phone that meant he had new messages. He dialed in, entered his passcode, and listened to the two new arrivals, his eyes widening as he did. “You guys need to hear these,” he urged as he reached for a pad of paper and a pen.
