BY EIGHT-THIRTY TEXAS time Saturday night, a Parks and Wildlife dive team had recovered a total of seven trash bags, each containing body parts, from Abel’s favorite fishing spot on Lake Whitney. The dive team dutifully turned them over to the Bosque County coroner’s office to begin the identification process.
And thanks to an eager reporter who habitually monitored police radio chatter for breaking news, the discovery was announced live on the ten-p.m. broadcast statewide.
