CHAPTER TEN
ONCE BELLA HUNG UP, Nathan sat there for a moment and stared at the ceiling, willing himself to refocus on the massive task of protecting so many others. They’re fine, Bella and Charlie, they’re safe, he reassured himself. Now focus, dammit.
He ran through what he and Steve had talked about. His boss had made some excellent suggestions, and Nathan’s mind blended them in with his battle plan as he stood, turned off the now shrieking alarm clock, and made his way to the bathroom to quickly shower and change.
