“YOU WANT THE GOOD NEWS, or the bad news first?” Trish asked Joe as he crossed the threshold into her lab.
“Hell, let’s start with good, I guess.”
“The good news is, I’ve identified the branding and product line - Lil’ Lilac, and this is their ‘Celebrate the Date’ line.”
“Wonder why they call it ‘Celebrate the Date’?” Joe mused.
Trish shook her head in exasperation. “It’s a birthstone thing, Joe. You know – garnet for January, amethyst for February, and so on.”
A flash of inspiration grabbed Joe’s attention. “I’ll be right back. Let me grab my files, I wanna check something.”
Trish shrugged as he raced out the door. He was back in a few minutes with three case files.
“Let me guess,” he said as he flipped through one. “The set we found on Andi Taggert was garnet, right?”
