CHAPTER SEVEN
BELLA AND JANDY WAITED in silence for Nathan to wrap up his call. When he returned to the room, Bella gasped at the tension on his face.
“Pack up,” he said. “I need to send you and Charlie home tonight.”
“Honey, what the hell’s going on?”
“Samantha Kennard has escaped,” he told her. “And I need to get you and Charlie as far away from here as possible.”
Bella swallowed hard, then nodded her understanding. “Where should we go?”
“I’m going to call Max,” he said. “He can help keep the two of you safe until she’s back in custody. Jandy, do you and Tony want to go too?”
“Absolutely not,” his big sister snapped. “Let’s go book you a flight, Bella.”
“No need,” Nathan said. “I’m sending them back on a company jet. I just need to coordinate it.” And he dialed another number and
