Faith Call
This is what I missed most of all. Driving with my little brother. All windows down. Music blasting like no one's business. And me and my brother singing at the top of our lungs.
Once we get to the beach, I inhale the salty air and look at my brother, who throws his arm over my shoulders.
"Come on, sissy. Oh, FeeFee, beforehand, Sam's fiancé, don't stare. It bugs, Sam," he says as we walk down to everyone.
"VIOLENCE!" only one person in the whole world, Jared, "LITTLE MAN!" I yell back, running out of my brother's arms, only to collide with Jared hard, making us fall on the sand and start laughing even harder, "girl! Where have you been?!" He laughs out as I slap the side of his head, “Jared, you know damn well where I've been this whole time," I say as he pulls me up back to my feet. “Alright, you two, come on," Embry laughs as we make our way to the bonfire.
Jared and I have been friends since grade school. I had my first kiss with him in middle school. We had a long talk about it, neither one of us liking the other, so Jared is like my second best friend. Embry is my first best friend, of course.
I first go to the elders: Billy Black, Harry Clearwater with his wife Sue Clearwater, and another elder, but I don't quite remember his name.
"Fay? Faith!" Sue is the first one to see me. She stands to make her way to me and pulls me into a hug. “Hi, Auntie Susie," I say as she hugs me tightly. “How are you doing, love?" She then asks, "I'm home. That's all I want," I say as she pulls me to the others. "ah, Faith Call, welcome home," Billy says with his smile. “Good to be home, Uncle Billy," I say as I crouch down to hug him. “Well, I hope you learned your lesson, Faith," Harry then asks as I look over at him. “Yes. Yes, I have, Uncle Harry. Where are Leah and Seth?" I ask as I look around for the older girl and her little brother. "Leah is at work, and Seth is hanging out with his friends. Why don't you go meet Emily, Sam's fiancé, and go eat before those three animals eat everything," Sue answers and then instructs as I smile.
I walk over to Sam who's hugging, which I assume is Emily, close to his body.
Sam, kinda don't know if that much, but he used to watch me, Embry, Quil, and Jacob when we were all like seven and Paul and Jared were eight. Well, actually, Leah was watching us, but Sam had a crush on her, so he was over a lot. I wonder whatever happened between them.
"Sammy!" I say with a little jump, landing right next to him. “Hey, there's my second biggest pain," he says, letting Emily go and putting me in a headlock as he starts laughing. “Ahh!!!! Sammy! Your armpit stinks!" I yell, pushing him away. “Hey, that's the smell of a man," he then slyly says, pulling me back for an actual hug. “Oh Faith, this is Emily, my fiancé. Emily, this is Faith, Embry's twin sister," Sam introduces as I completely see what my brother was talking about. “Hi! I'm so happy to finally meet you, Faith. Embry has told me so much about you," Emily says, pulling me into a hug, which takes me by surprise. “Hi, well then I guess you probably don't need to know much about me then," I say as I spot the Little b***h.
Paul, I hate this Little b***h. Ever since grade school, it's like he's been competing with me in everything. Field day. Talent shows. Dares. s**t, even who could pull off the best pranks. But he does look a lot different than the skinny little boy I do remember.
"Why would we need to know more about you, Jail Bird? You’re already a loudmouth as it is," Paul spat as he grabs a handful of chips. “Well, it's a good thing. No one needs to know more about you since you'll be gone by the next morning, Little b***h," I spat back with a brow raised as he finally looks at my eyes and completely changes his eyes from anger to fear like a snap, making him lose his balance a bit, which I give him a funky look. And in a split second, Sam lets go of Emily and grabs Paul to pull him away as Jared and Embry follow behind. “Umm, what just happened?" I questioned, looking over at Emily, whose eyes are wide open. “Oh, don't worry about it. Come on, let's sit by the fire. It’s starting to get cold," she says as she starts shivering.
