Ring Ring I groaned and rolled over, picking up my phone. "Hello?" I answered. "Mak. Please. You have to help me. In the woods. Close to the pond. Please." Adrians voice came through the phone. "I"m on my way." I said, hanging up and jumping out of bed. I threw on my black sweatpants and a tank top, running down the stairs and out of the house. I shifted into my all black wolf and took off into the woods, following Adrian"s smell. "Our alpha will be here soon." I heard Adrian growl. "Then you"re all dead." I burst through the trees and growled. There were three rogues standing around Adrian. One was holding a very bloodied and beaten up Adrian with a knife to his throat while the other two stood next to a girl who was either dead or asleep. I growled lowly and they all looked at me. I shifted as they all watched, one of them chuckling. "So this is the Alpha female everyone"s been buzzing about." One of them laughed. Dad. Woods. Now. I sent through our link, watching the rogues carefully. "You"re holding my Beta." I growled. "Let him go." "Ahh." The rogue smiled. "She"s got sass. Too bad you"re just a little girl." He shrugged. I growled lowly and looked at Adrian. On three. I sent him through our mind link. Okay. He said, glancing at me. One. I started to count. Two. He said. Three. We both said at the same time as he quickly grabbed the rogues arm and knocked the knife from his hand, flipping him over his shoulder. All of the rogues shifted and I did the same. I growled at them as Adrian ran to the girl and they circled me. I kicked my back leg out and felt it make contact with one of their faces. They let out a whimper as the other two jumped at me. I quickly dodged out of the way and shifted into my human form. "Get off of my land rogues. Last chance." I growled. They growled back and lunged for me. I shook my head, guessing their answer is no, as I punched one in the nose and heard a crack as he fell to the ground. I shifted and went to lunge for the other one when my dad came running through the trees. He instantly pounced on one while I leapt towards the other one. I landed on top of him and pinned him to the ground. He tried to get up, but I held him down. I looked into his eyes before closing my mouth around his neck. He closed his eyes as I bit down on his throat, hearing his heart stop. I looked at my dad to see the other one had met the same fate There was one left who had been laying on the ground the whole time. "Wait!" I shifted, holding my hand up as my dad stalked towards him. "What?" He shifted back too, looking at me like I had lost my mind. "Adrian." I looked back at him. "Oh. Never mind." I said as he cradled the injured girl in his arms. "They were here for a reason. I need to know why and who that girl is. So I need him alive." I gestured to the only living rogue. My dad just nodded and lifted the guy up, dragging him away. "Who is that?" I asked quietly, walking over to Adrian. "She"s my mate." Adrian whispered, staring down at her with tears in his eyes. "Adrian. Put her down." I said, kneeling down beside them. "And please. Don"t tell anyone." He gently sat her down and scooted away. I held my hands over the hole in her side and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath as I felt the warmth rush through my hands. I opened my eyes and looked at Adrian. I moved away from her as Adrian continued to stare at me. "What the hell?" He asked quietly, scooting back over to the girl. "I found a hurt rogue in the woods one day." I started to explain. "And when I went to help him I healed him. I was confused, so was the rogue. But neither of us questioned it and he just ran. I didn"t tell anyone because my mom told me of her powers, but everyone treated her differently because of it." I whispered. "Please don"t treat me different." "Mak. You"re my best friend. It"s okay." He said, smiling softly as he picked up his mate. "She isn"t fully healed." He said, looking down at her as we began to walk back to my house. "I know." I nodded. "I only closed off the major wounds so no one would get suspicious." He nodded and thanked me. "Come on. We have to get her home." I said before taking off running to my house. "So why did you bring here here?" My dad yelled, pacing the floor as Adrian took his mate to our guest room. "Why not his house? Or the pack doctor? She could be a rogue!" "She isn"t!" I yelled back. "She doesn"t even have the scent of one! And I had to bring her here! Uncle Jacob and Aunt Myha traveled to visit her family!" My dad nodded and sat down. "Okay." He said. "Okay." "I know you think that you know what"s best dad. I appreciate you looking out for me. But I know what I"m doing." I said before going upstairs. I walked into the room and saw the girl was awake. She was staring at Adrian with a small smile on her face. "Knock knock." I said, walking over and sitting down on the little couch we had. "Who"s that?" She quietly asked Adrian. "That"s Makenna. Our Alpha." He said. "She"s the girl Alpha Allen always talks about." She said, looking at me. "What does he say?" I asked, standing up. "My name is Sadie. I"m an omega of our pack." She said quietly. "I take care of the Alpha house so I always hear him talking about how he doesn"t think you should be Alpha or the Queen." I growled and shook my head. "That bastard." I said quietly. "Tomorrow. We"ll go to your pack tomorrow and I"ll talk to Allen. Tell him you are my beta"s mate, making you my beta female. So you"ll join my pack." I said. "But Alpha Makenna." She said, looking at me nervously. "Can we get Austin?" She asked. "Why?" I asked. "What do you know?" "I hear him a lot. I hear Austins yells of pain. And I hear Alpha Allen yelling at him to shut up, that he deserves it." She looked away with tears in her eyes. "No one ever sees Austin. He"s kept in the attic of Alpha Allens house. I tried to help him, but Alpha Allen didn"t appreciate it. He beat me and sent me to the cellar for a few days." Adrian growled lowly and pulled her closer to him. "Thank you." I said, getting up and going to my room. Austin. That name again. That feeling again. Expect this time all I feel is anger that he"s hurt. But I don"t even know him. •Adrian"s POV• Beta. Rogues. One of the warriors sent through the pack link. I got out of bed and threw on a white shirt and my shoes before going downstairs. Coming. I said, shifting into my wolf as I ran into the forest. I came to a small clearing and that"s when I smelt the most amazing thing ever. I looked through the trees and growled. There were three rogues, one of them holding my mate. I walked through the trees and growled, gaining their attention. The rogue holding my mate dropped her and I winced as she hit the ground. Relief washed over me as she groaned, showing she was alive. "You"re on Light Stone Pack territory." I growled. "We know." The rogue who had been holding my mate said, shrugging like it was no big deal. "Trespassing is a death wish." I said, glaring at them. My mate let out a whimper as she opened her eyes. One of the rogues kicked her in the face, knocking her out again. I lunged for him, but I was tackled before I could reach him. I felt a blade get pushed against my throat as I was held down. "Call your Alpha." The rogue growled. "Tell him you need help." I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed Makenna"s number. They don"t know who they"re messing with. "Hello?" She answered, sounding tired. "Mak. Please. You have to help me. In the woods. Close to the pond." "I"m on my way." She said before hanging up. "Our alpha will be here soon." I growled as I heard footsteps getting closer. "Then you"re all dead." Right on time Mak burst through the trees and growled at the three rogues standing around me. She looked at me and then at my mate who was still laying on the ground. She growled lowly and they rogues looked over at her. She shifted back as they all watched, one of them chuckling as they realized she"s a girl. "So this is the Alpha female everyone"s been buzzing about." One of them laughed. "You"re holding my Beta." She growled, gesturing at me. "Let him go." "Ahh." The rogue smiled. "She"s got sass. Too bad you"re just a little girl." He shrugged. She growled lowly and looked over at me. On three. We both said at the same time as I quickly grabbed the rogues arm and knocked the knife from his hand, flipping him over my shoulder. All of the rogues shifted and Makenna did the same. They turned their attention to her, giving me a chance to get to my mate. I heard Makenna growl as I fell to my knees next to my mate. "Hey mate." I whispered, gently pulling her to me. "You"re going to be okay." I stared down at her face, shaking my head. She"s skinny, too skinny. Her skin is pale and she has cuts and bruises scattered around her arms and face. "Get off of my land rogues. Last chance." Makenna growled. I looked up as I heard them growl back, watching as they lunged for her. I went to help when her dad burst through the trees. He instantly pounced on one while she leapt towards the other one. I turned my attention back to my mate, making sure she was still alive. I"ve waited my whole life to find my mate, and now she"s dying in my arms. "Please stay with me." I whispered as tears fell from my face. "Adrian." Makenna said. I looked up at her and saw her look at my mate. "Oh. Never mind." She said, looking at her dad. "They were here for a reason. I need to know why and who that girl is. So I need him alive." She gestured to the only living rogue. Damon nodded and lifted the rogue up, dragging him away. "Who is that?" Makenna asked quietly, walking over to me. "She"s my mate." I whispered, staring down at her with tears in my eyes. "Adrian. Put her down." She said, kneeling down beside us. "And please. Don"t tell anyone." I gently laid her down and scooted away. I watched as she held her hands over the hole in my mates side and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. Her hands began to glow a dull gray color as my mates wounds began to heal. Makenna opened my eyes and looked over at me. She moved away from as I just continued to stare at her. "What the hell?" I asked quietly, scooting back to my mate. "I found a hurt rogue in the woods one day." She said, looking at the ground. "And when I went to help him I healed him. I was confused, so was the rogue. I said, looking down at her as we began to walk back. "I know." She nodded. "I only closed off the major wounds so no one would get suspicious." I nodded and thanked her, happy my mate is still alive. "Come on. We have to get her home." Mak said as we picked up our pace.
