Chapter 14 - The Deadly Rules of the Night Hunters Club
Krish replied calmly,
“Why not… of course. We can be friends. By the way… could you tell me some basic information about this place? I don’t really know much about this organization… or about what actually happens here.”
Kira looked at him with a faint, knowing smile.
“Oh… I see. So you still haven’t signed the contract?”
Krish shook his head slightly.
“Not yet. They told me about it, but I’ve been thinking about it. Maybe I should sign it… though I’m still wondering... this is legal, right?”
Kira chuckled softly, her eyes glimmering with something mysterious.
“You should definitely sign it. Opportunities like this don’t come to everyone. Only a few… special people are chosen.”
She leaned a little closer and whispered,
“Don’t worry. You’ll learn everything soon enough.”
Then she straightened up and added with a strange tone,
“Welcome to the new world.”
Krish gave a small smile.
“Yeah… I guess it does feel like that.”
Kira Slowly stood up from her seat.
“I have to go now,” she said quietly.
“There’s a place I’m heading to… but it isn’t my destination. I would have taken you with me, but you’re still… incomplete.”
She began walking away, then paused and said over her shoulder,
“We’ll meet again. See you soon… my friend.”
Krish waved lightly.
“Bye.”
Kira walked away through the hall, her long steps calm and elegant.
Krish watched her disappear into the crowd.
Her strange words lingered in his mind, leaving him uneasy and curious at the same time.
He kept thinking about what she meant.
A few moments later, Mr. Sael approached him.
“Hey… young boy” Mr. Sael said with a slight grin. “Looks like you’re getting comfortable here pretty quickly. That’s good.”
He leaned closer and added quietly,
“But you might want to be a little careful around that deadly beauty. She’s charming… but very dangerous.”
He raised an eyebrow.
“What did she say to you?”
Krish hesitated slightly.
“She just… wanted to be friends. So I said yes.”
Mr. Sael shrugged.
“Well, if that’s what you want. I’m just warning you about some of the dangers around here.”
Then he asked casually,
“Would you like something to eat?”
Krish shook his head.
“No, thanks. But I’ll remember what you said.”
Mr. Sael nodded and walked away.
Suddenly, loud shouting erupted from the main hall.
Two men sitting at a nearby table had started arguing violently. Their argument escalated within seconds. One of them suddenly pulled out a gun... Bang!
The gunshot echoed through the hall.
The other man collapsed instantly, dead.
Panic spread across the Hall. Voices rose, chairs scraped against the floor.
Within moments, several club guards rushed in and seized the man who had fired the gun.
They snatched the weapon from his hand and restrained him.
The man struggled against them, shouting angrily and hurling insults.
Just then, the doors of the upper meeting hall opened.
Mr. Durraan stepped out.
The moment people saw him, the entire hall fell silent.
Durraan slowly walked down toward the center of the hall. His presence alone seemed to freeze the atmosphere.
His voice thundered through the room.
“What exactly is going on here?”
He looked around coldly.
“Why is there so much noise in my club?”
His eyes turned toward the man held by the guards.
“Don’t you know that weapons are forbidden inside this establishment?”
The man swallowed nervously before speaking.
“Ohh… sir… the man I shot… he was my business partner. That bastard tried to cheat me in the business we built together.”
He pointed toward the dead body.
“And you know very well, sir… the punishment for betrayal is death. So I gave him the punishment he deserved.”
Mr. Durraan listened silently.
Then… he smiled faintly.
“Oh yes… betrayal is indeed punishable by death.”
His voice became colder.
“But you chose the wrong place.”
He stepped closer.
“It is a rule of this organization that no bloodshed is allowed inside any of our establishments.”
Durraan looked directly into the man’s terrified eyes.
“So for breaking that rule…”
He slowly pulled out his pistol.
“You are hereby sentenced to death.”
The man’s face turned pale.
“Sir... please! I didn’t mean... ”
Banng!!!
Durraan shot him in the head without hesitation.
The man collapsed instantly onto the marble floor.
The entire hall remained silent.
Durraan calmly turned to the guards.
“Take both bodies to the old cemetery behind the club… and bury them.”
The guards nodded and dragged the bodies away.
Krish stood in the rest hall, watching everything through the window with wide eyes. He had just witnessed the execution with his own eyes.
Durraan turned toward the crowd and spoke calmly.
“My apologies for the disturbance.”
He adjusted his coat.
“Please remember to follow the rules of this organization.”
Within minutes, the atmosphere returned to normal.
People resumed their conversations.
Drinks were poured again.
Deals continued.
As if nothing unusual had happened.
As if death… was just another routine event in this place.
The guards and club staff quickly handled the situation. Working together, they removed both bodies and cleaned the area thoroughly. Within minutes, everything looked exactly as it had before.
Soon the same strange music began playing again inside the club, and the atmosphere returned to normal... as if nothing had happened.
Krish watched all of this with a troubled expression. He turned to Mr. Sael and asked quietly,
“Is this kind of bloodshed… normal here? Does this happen every day?”
Mr. Sael shook his head.
“No, not every day. But sometimes hot headed fools come here and break the rules.
When that happens… unfortunate incidents like this occur.”
Krish frowned.
“Two people just died. Won’t the police come here?”
Mr. Sael gave a faint smile and nodded toward a section of the hall.
“See that tall man wearing the green jacket near the large table in the red area? He’s the head officer of the local police station. No outside police will come here. Inside this place, only our organization’s rules apply.”
Krish fell silent.
For the first time, he began to feel that coming here might have been a terrible mistake.
Just then, Mr. Durraan approached.
He stopped beside Krish and said calmly,
“Krish, everything alright here? I hope you’ve learned a little about this place by now.”
He paused briefly.
“But that’s not enough. There is still much you need to understand about our organization.”
Krish hesitated before replying.
“Yes… everything seems fine. Except for those two deaths.”
Durraan studied his face carefully.
“You seem a little shaken. Listen… sometimes madmen come here and break the rules of our organization. When that happens, they must be punished. It’s necessary... so that others remember the consequences.”
He smiled slightly.
“You’ll need some time to get used to this place. But eventually, you will.”
Then he asked casually,
“So… how did you like our hospitality?”
Krish hesitated again before speaking.
“It’s… fine. But can you tell me what I’m supposed to do here now? I should tell you in advance… I can’t be involved in any kind of violent work.”
Durraan chuckled softly.
“Krish… you won’t have to do anything like that.”
His voice lowered slightly.
“You are special to us. Which means your role will be special as well.”
He looked toward the exit.
“You still have a lot to learn about our organization. So let’s take a short trip. Somewhere a little farther from here.”
Then he smiled mysteriously.
“Perhaps we’ll test your fate there.”
He looked directly into Krish’s eyes.
“So… are you ready?”
Krish felt confused and uneasy, but after a moment he nodded.
“Yes… I’m ready.”
Evening had already fallen.
Durraan gestured for Krish to follow him. They walked toward the back exit of the club and stepped outside.
