A call comes through

"Rose,did you hear that grandpa died?!,he died yesterday, right in the middle of the night by the'time' according to those who saw it happen,they said that it was exactly the same way as other deaths" this was the first thing that Rose Edenia,an eighteen year old teenager living in downtown UK,a street filled with thugs where the light of day didn't seem to penetrate,occasional Storms brewing outside the streets that sets the mood for a robbery minutes before it was even made, and a street well known for peculiar events,woke up to.well, of course,to no one's surprise, based on the recent events that have been happening in the edenia family,this didn't seem to surprise Rose,not even in the slightest....in fact she seemed to be no different than she was three minutes ago before the call. One would've thought that she was the one responsible for her grandfather's death, but however, with the recent death streaks at the Edenia house, even a mouse or an ant wouldn't be surprised if he lost his life too at the Edenia house, because it wasn't uncommon.Rose had witnessed a lot of burials within the last month till date,they weren't pretty pretty,and honestly speaking,what was death anymore to her if not a child's play.

"When's the burial?" Rose asked with absolutely no sign of warmth in her words,not even sparing a little to warm up the situation,the ice cold words struck Maria,her cousin from Spain who was about the same age as her."The burial would be held in the next two weeks,so everyone has to be home before then, it'll be a grand burial as expected of us Edenians,so all our aunt's, uncles and cousins will be there,at least we'll get to catch up just like old times", Maria said so casually like she didn't already know how strange the family's situation was ,hace been rather,as it just started in the New year, just last month,it was their aunt vero who died, and now it's their grandpa. something did seem strange and eerie about the deaths she had witnessed though, but no one could really figure it out, not even some of the spiritualists, what was strange was the gruesome death which all the dead Edenia members had,it was always described as "The devil's death" by the superstitious oldies in the UK. The sad thing was that the victims of the devil's deaths were pummeled and ripped apart before facing a final execution by things unseen,the worst was when her brother,fiero died, Rose watched as he was torn inside out, with his last words to her being" the c-c-a ......at tr-tried to warn mmmmmmeeee"as he let out a last breath and joined the underworld.

Rose let a sigh escape her lips and freshened herself up,she stared in the mirror as though someone else was watching her ,"when's it gonna be my turn?" she asked herself as she put on her makeup,not like she needed makeup to look pretty, thanks to the perfect combination of genes from her parents, Rose's face was truly a beauty to behold, and it wasn't a'beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ' type of situation,she was actually beautiful with her bright blue eyes, blonde hair, lips red as blood, and the perfect outfit,rose prepared for the flight she and her parents had already booked to America where her grandpa died.

"What's wrong sweetie" Rose's mom asked her with an answer to her own question already running at the back of her mind,rose said nothing as they drove all the way to the airport.Hey, don't misread the situation,rose wasn't quiet because she was mourning,after all,she had seen her fair share of death worse than being torn apart by hungry lions, Rose was quiet because, for some reason,she felt like she was being watched.

"Are you scared too,panda?" Rose said, turning her head towards her pet cat,which she named panda,due to its clumsy behavior and big black spots mixed with it's white fur.her cat purred and gave a meow that seemed to carry all the fear an animal could express,"I guess she's scared too"rose thought to herself,and with the creepy silence in the car, Rose Edenia and her parents drove to the airport and got on their plane.

A few hours later, the sound of screeching tires made the sound asleep Rose,and with that , the flight was concluded, a slightly gentle tug from Rose's mom let her know that reality had resumed it's normal course. "can't you at least pretend to smile? " now, that was the mother Rose remembers, the mother that would easily go on a business trip, even if Rose was in a lethal situation, Christina Edenia. Same went for her dad, Chris Edenia, but then again, what could one expect from billionaires that only know the way of business. Rose simply looked at her mother and showed her full teeth, something in the semblance of a smile. "Now that's a good girl" chris said, barely even looking at rose for five seconds. The only time Rose smiled to herself for real was when she saw a plane take off, and a little girl inside the plane seemed to be staring right at her till the plane was out of sight. "who was that creepy girl" Rose thought to herself while giggling a little at the girl's funny appearance, portions of the girls face seemed to appear distorted, but Rose, thought to herself that, it must just be the bright lights and high speeds of the plane playing tricks on her.

The already waiting chauffeur had spotted the family and quickly went to pick them up, as the family once again drove in silence to their father/father in law/grandpa's house, Rose drifted off once more into her dream state. Few seconds before she did, she quickly remembered why she looked so frightened when she woke up, but before she knew it , she was back in the exact same dream, only that this one was a bit scarier than the last . something funny was going on in the outside world too, panda seemed to be frolicking up and down, meowing in all sorts of attempt to wake rose up, but the unconcerned parents didn't seem to care,"hush panda, you silly cat!!" was all that could be heard in the outside AKA inside the car, no one else seemed to realize that an Evil eye had already drawn it's sight on rose, all except panda surprisingly. slight wriggles at the seat in the second row in the big limo, could show that whatever dream Rose was having wasn't cute. As the limo drove further towards the appointed destination, the wriggles kept on getting worse, but Rose's parents at the front row couldn't feel a thing, at least not when their attention was fixed to their phone, in an instant, panda jumped away from where Rose had laid, probably because of something no one would understand, panda wasn't a usual cat, she came from a generation of cats used to ward off evil spirits in the olden days.... she was actually among the last generation, so people who had knowledge of this actually paid attention to panda's movements, but unfortunately, such people were rare and in the Edenia family, none were found, probably because of the not superstitious nature of it's members. what could panda possibly have seen or felt to make it react like that? a mystery the unsuspecting parents didn't know.taking a look away from her phone which she had been staring at for hours"awwwww, the lil baby's having a good dream and wriggling for excitement" Christina said as her attention was drawn to where Rose was by the cat, Christina simply decided not to ruin Rose's "good dream" but little did she know about what her daughter was dreaming about.
