“Alright everyone, listen up!” Alpha Davis called out to get the raiding party’s attention in the training arena before the left for the next raid. “As you all know, this raid will have eyes on it very quickly. We know that WIPA is actively investigating again, and people are asking questions. There is word that DISCIS is also involved, which means more eyes, money and people are looking for us. So, we don’t have any room for error over the next few days. The plane is ready for us at the airport. Everyone move out.” He commanded. The raiding party made it to the airport in Englewood, Colorado and quickly left to drive to the campground they would be staying at to set up camp. Once there, they all knew what to do. They were staying about one hundred miles from the pack they would be raiding this time. The scouting party left to do their final sweeps of the area before the raid the next night. Everything went well and they were ready. This is the first time they would be raiding inside a mountain range where the terrain would affect them. It is also the first raid they are completing for the next generation. There was more riding on it for them. “Alpha, everything looks in order here. We should be good to go tomorrow night.” Reeves reported through their link. “Good! Remain there with your scouts to keep surveillance. Stay out of sight and don’t get caught.” Alpha Davis replied. The next afternoon, Reeves reported back in again. “Everything here is still good to go Alpha. I have just sent my team to the three team rendezvous locations to do last minute checks and keep them secure for your arrival.” “Good to hear. We are leaving here within the next thirty minutes. We will be there before sunset.” Alpha Davis advised. “Alright everyone, let’s move!” Alpha Davis called out to the rest of the raiding party. Everyone climbed into the vehicles and began the drive to where they would park. The last leg of the trip they would go on foot except for the vehicles that would be transporting the children. It took just over an hour for them to arrive at their rendezvous locations. “Ok, all teams should be in place now. Stay quiet and vigilant. We will move at midnight, wait for my signal!” The Alpha commanded through their mind link. The woods remained silent as they waited. All prey animals staying still with the abundant wolf threat nearby. Just before midnight, Alpha Davis stood from his hiding spot and honed his vision in on where he would emerge from the woods. His team was all in wolf form. They would be the distraction as usual. He let out a loud howl and his team started to move. Beta Black heard the signal clear as day from where his team was hiding. He had more warriors with him for this raid than they usually brought. It was his job to make sure they all made it home to their mates. Once the Winter Moon warriors were fighting with the Alpha’s team, Beta Black let his warriors to the packhouse. The cameras and security system were disabled quickly. They were not very good. A sign that this pack was young and did not have a lot of money to invest in keeping them safe. Once inside the packhouse, it was quickly discovered that the nursery had its own security system that was not discovered during the reconnaissance mission. It took a few extra minutes that they did not have to get into the nursery. The nannies were not expecting anyone to enter the room. Half of them were sleeping while on duty, which was unacceptable. The others were too slow to stop the warriors or raise an alarm to the rest of the sleeping packhouse. “Uh, hey Beta,” Reeves said to get Beta Black’s attention. “You notice all the babies and kids are in pairs? I’ve never seen that before in any of the raids. “I was just thinking that too. How many pairs do we have?” Beta Black asked. “Looks like ten pairs Beta” Whalen replied. “What do you want to do?” “Take them all! Make it quick” Beta Black commanded. “Take all twenty children?” Reeves questioned to confirm. “Yes! Let’s move. We don’t have much time.” Beta Black said. He picked up the child that was closest to him and handed him to the warrior next to him who was already carrying a child. “Go, get them to the vehicles. Let’s move!” The children were all picked up and dispersed to the warriors quickly and then the sprint to the vehicles was on. “Get ready for more than we planned to take! We’re coming!” Beta Black yelled through the mind link to Gamma Curtis. “What does that mean?” Gamma Curtis asked. “It means we have more children than planned. Double actually. Get ready fast! We’re on our way.” Beta Black responded. Gamma Curtis sprang into motion with his team at the vehicles. “Listen up! We have twenty children coming instead of ten. We need the smallest ones into the car seats. The rest will have to go on laps. We need to mobilize as fast as possible once they get here so be ready. They are on their way!“ He commanded through mind link to his team. It was a fast hand off of children when the raiding team arrived at the vehicles. Everyone was loaded and they were on the move within minutes. Again, the vehicles would all split up and take different routes back to the campground for the night. There they would lay low until the morning. Another private airport was being used for them to leave. It was in another state so they had a long drive to make in the morning when the search party would be out in full force. The plan this time included switching out the rental vehicles to different ones because they would be driving further than any previous raid. Once the vehicles made it back to the campground, the drivers took them back to the rental agency. They then went down the road to the second rental agency they had selected to pick up the new transport vehicles. Everything on that end went smoothly for them. Once the distraction team made it back to the campground, Alpha Davis was filled in with the number of children they had taken during the raid. "Alpha, we obtained twenty children tonight instead of the planned ten.” Beta Black advised. “What do you mean we took twenty? Why did we take twenty when ten was planned for? This is going to cause a lot of extra work on the other end. And a lot more stress to make it home without being caught.” Alpha Davis responded. “Alpha, I made the call to take all the children in the nursery due to the strange way they were laid out. All of them were in pairs. None of them boy girl. We wanted even numbers of each gender. The easiest and fastest way was to just take them all.” Beta Black stated. “I’ll take the heat on this. The warriors on my team did not make the decision.” “We didn’t make the decision, but think it was the right one. We all saw the same thing as the Beta. It was odd.” Reeves added. “Well, we will deal with all that later. Right now, we need to focus on getting some rest so we can leave at first light.” Alpha Davis said. In the morning, the children and raiding team all packed up and loaded the new getaway vehicles. It would be a nine-hour drive to the private airstrip that would take them all home. One that they made easily and without notice. Once they were in the air, Alpha Davis addressed the raiding party. “This raid didn’t go completely as planned. With the extra children, we have a lot of extra work ahead and decisions to make. However, more families will also be blessed with children that would have otherwise had to wait. So, they will be grateful for this, I’m sure. I don’t think it needs to be said, but I’m going to say it anyway as we have some new faces among us for this raid. Everything we have done to prepare for this raid as well as all actions taken during must remain a secret. No one outside of the raiding party is allowed to be told anything without the express permission of myself. Including your mates. Is that understood?” A chorus of “Yes, Alpha” could be heard around the plane. “Good! Now let’s relax for a couple hours while we’re in the air. Once we land, it’s going to be busy.” Alpha Davis said. The ranked females along with their security details and drivers were waiting at the airport with pack vehicles to take everyone home. They knew they needed to bring extra vehicles with them but not why until everyone came off the plane. “What is going on?” Luna Davis asked when she saw all the children. “I’ll explain later once we are back on pack territory. I don’t want to have to repeat it too many times where ears can hear that shouldn’t.” Alpha Davis replied. The Luna nodded her head and made quick work of securing everyone in their vehicles for the drive home.
