I sneared at this frightened little thing infront of me.
"people usually eat dinner"
the remark catches me off guard, oh that mouth. I want to tame it
She wasn't the same girl from high-school.
she had filled out. I let my gaze wander over her body and all the full soft bits. but still that damn mouth.
"yes, people eat dinner, but do you?"
I intrude on her thoughts and watch those eyes change.
"I..I... Yes I do" Kasey stammered my hand still fully engulfing her wrist.
"Then, we must togther. Let's get caught up"
Her face changes again. its softens
"Isn't there some company policy against that? She quips without missing a beat
"ummm, We aren't f*****g if that's what you mean."
Her mouth clamps shut and she blushes again. before she cuts me off
" Just two people from the past catching up. I want to know who I am hiring, Mrs.Smith monopolized your interview. I wasnt able to ask much"
Alister had a grin plastered on now. He knew she was taken back by the f*****g comment.
Her shoulders drop, her eyes search for an excuse.
"I guess we could, but I need to catch the last bus. can't afford to say in the inner city." she turns towards the door.
He releases her arm and heads for the door.
"come on, this way" Alister says
Kasey, turns on her heel and follows.
His thoughts swim, no way this girl is the same one I went to high-school with. Those eyes, those legs, that skirt, he wanted to rip it off her. He smiled thinking of the things he wanted and let his mind wander, stealing glances at parts of her.
They strode in tandem down the street in silence. Letting the big city surrounding them do the talking. horns honking, sirens blaring , the hum of bodies moving and talking on the sidewalks.
He wished he had that. Wished he had someone to create a stir that made him feel alive. Sure big man executive, fancy job, ivy league degree, everything came so damn easy. Except one thing love. Sure over the years there were women, but they all heard important jobs too and they were cut throat about it. They didnt need him. They mearly coupled with him to have an equal. Nothing more, the odd meeting or banquet someone who's success also made them look successful in their accomplishments, an equal his mother would say. she never said she loved anyone and always referred to his father as her equal.
"Where are we going, Alister?"
The question rocked him out of his thoughts. Brought him back to reality, the city sounded louder now.
"Somehwere quiet" as he placed a hand on Kasey's lower back and swung open a door with the other. He rushed her in off the street, into a dim lit restaurant with soft music playing.
"Hello, Alister, same table as usual." the over friendly hostess gushed as she grabbed a menu.
"No, let's do at table towards the back booths for two."
Her smile faded at the word two and she showed a different demeanor.
"Yes, Sir... ugh for two." as if asking him a question.
He placed his hand on Kasey's lower back once more feeling her heat, his own starts to grow.
"Yes, two."
The hostess drops her shoulders and grabs a second menu.
"Follow me." she glares at Kasey with eyes on fire studying her.
Turns on her heel and strides off through the restaurant
"After you, Miss Blake"
He says opening his arm to make room for her to pass through.
"Thank you". she almost wanted to curtsy, this felt awkward and formal.
He tailed behind her but not too close he wanted to watch her hips and those long legs. How can we break the ice, this feels weird and out of place he thought. As they reached the table tucked in a dark corner, it was round and the burgundy leather looked over stuffed and plush. He liked the intimate setting, never been to this part of the restaurant before. Never had anyone with me before.
He liked this newest image brought to his mind.
"Sit " he said
Kasey turned and shrugged off her blazer, revealing a well suited top. it was V-neck that dropped low in the front and was shoulder less with a thin strap of fabric around the back of her neck. The soft pastel colour suited her skin and made her look glowing in this light. Alister got pangs in his d**k.
What the hell. That's new too he thought, never had that before not with previous women he dated.
He quickly sat hoping she would notice the bulge.
God damn it man get it together. He mental slapped himself inside.
"So Kasey, what made you apply at my families company?"
"Your families company?" she mocked. "I had no idea it was your families company. You never mentioned that before."
with a wide grin on her face trying to break the slience between them.
"All through high-school, you tried to get that in every sentence you could, oh my god how young we were. You knew where you were going to end up and used it as a flex. it was so annoying."
she grabs a menu
I scowled at her grin, she glanced up from her menu and noticed I didn't find it funny.
"OH come on, we were kids. we all did annoying things."
She was still trying to study my reaction from behind the menu.
"You didn't. "
she paused and looked up.
"Sorry what was that." Kasey was taken back by my answer.
"You didn't." I replied again.
She placed the menu down.
"You were always so certain and serious, you were always the girl who knew what she wanted and went after it with so much passion."
Her smile faded. Don't know if she thought my complement was a load of s**t. she went serious.
" I didnt think you cared about people enough to know what i wanted or did."
oh man she floored me. That jab hurt the ego.
"You were too busy hating me and finding me annoying to find out."
finally a shot for me, I smiled playfully at her. She had a face of uncertainty.
"OH!" Kasey exclaimed.
Her face turned red and she grabbed for the menu to hide her embarrassment.
I grabbed the menu, revealing in her embarrassment and those red cheeks my god.
"No, No, " I snatched the menu.
"I practically live here, May I order for you, tonight?"
God dammit she is so cute flushed with red not knowing what to do with her hands with no menu.
" Yes, I guess that would be fine."
she replies slumping a little in the booth, which allows a little more of a veiw of her cleavage.
"Hello, I am Samantha, I will be serving you this evening. What may I start you off with."
the waitress breezed up to the table. way to cheerful for Alister.
He barked the order at her and asked for a large bottle of red wine.
"We will start with the red, and then bring a cabernet with the meal. Bring the wine, two glasses then only return when the meal is ready to be served. thank you, that is all."
Samantha bounced away, Alister studied Kasey across the table.
"It is getting crowded in here, may I move closer to you, easier to hear one another."
She nods to him and they both shuffle closer but in the shuffle bump elbows then heads.
He immediately grabbed her head and pulled her into him.
"I am so sorry are you okay. I should of stayed in place"
Kasey's eyes met his.
