"Earth to Kasey" " Hello, are you with me?"

Fingers snapped as Alister tried to grab Kaseys attention.

Her face twisted in disgust.

She jumped and returned to the present. Alister watched as a chill ran down her spine and she hugged herself as if she had relived something unwanted.

She immediately shot an arm out and grabber her full coffee cup infront of her, as if willing it to warm her.

He motioned for one of the staff and quietly asked one of them to fetch Miss. Blake a sweater.

In moments, they returned with a beautiful hand knitted cardigan. Alister retrieved the sweater and ordered Kasey to stand. She had just placed breakfast on her plate, but welcomed the sweater.

Once her left arm was in it, she was spun to face Alister and he embraced her rubbing both hands up and down her back.

He found it difficult not to embrace her, so he did. Pulling her in still rubbing her body. He tilted his head down to her ear and whispered. "I won't hurt you, I will keep you safe."

Kasey eyes widened, did I say the quiet thing out loud, did he read my mind. She couldn't quite place this feeling, in his arms felt safe and secure but being in his presence gave her the urge to flee.

Alister released her and gestured to her food. "Please eat before its cold."

She sat back in her seat and lifted her fork and began her breakfast.

The food was amazing, she even convinced herself the orange juice was fresh squeezed. After she finished she gathered her plate and cup and asked where the kitchen was.

Alister chuckled and said "put it down, my staff will tend to it."

"Kasey, where are you going?" Alister didn't have much time to catch up. As Kasey found the kitchen and placed her dishes in the sink and promptly began to wash her plate.

"My lord girl are you stubborn " he chuckled as he leaned against the counter. She didnt respond.

Alister quickly caught her drift and turned to find a towel to dry them for her.

"You didn't have to do that." She nodded towards her dishes.

He placed the towel down and tucked an loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"And you dont always have to feel like you need to survive on your own." Alister studied her reaction.

Kasey winced at those words. How the hell does he know, how can her read me so well? Her mind spun, she finished the dishes and leaned against the counter.

"So, what are you doing for the rest of the day?" Alister questioning

"I suppose now that you've seen me naked, I should go home and look up other job offers. I did have my heart set on the position, suppose it wasnt ment to be though. Not exactly the impression I wanted to make."

Kasey started to fidget with one of the oversized buttons on the sweater. "By the way, where are we exactly? Because, I am going to have to tell the taxi driver something. " She giggled, oh that smile Alister thought , as she continued " umm.. Hello, I need a taxi to this devilish handsome man's places, he took me home and won't tell me where I am." she giggled again using her right hand as a mock phone.

Alister stepped forward hands on her waist pinning her to the counter with his hips.

"mmm .... you think i am handsome." these words growl from deep in his throat.

Kasey freezes, the heat fills her face, god he loves when she blushes the heat radiates from her whole body. He cups her face with both hands, a long pause as he studies her face. Just then, a staff member walks in carrying a tray from the breakfast.

"My apologies Sir, so sorry" they place the tray and leave.

Kasey burst in hysterical laughter, Alister begins to see the humor and joins her. while in the fit of giggles he studies her. All of her soft lines and the way her eyes look when she has a genuine laugh, he couldn't stop himself from tracing the outter line of her face and capturing a kiss.

" Have lunch with me?" he asks as he presses his forehead to hers.

Kasey, nods in agreement.
