Now is the time!
Taking a deep breath, I say silent words of prayer, hoping that this doesn't go south.
If I fail, I'm ruined.
I walk out of the ward, heading to nowhere in mind. I stop when I see Alex follow me from behind.
Should I take to my heels or not?! I'm trying to not tremble.
“What?!”
I don't mind if I draw unwanted attention. He doesn't speak but gets closer to me.
“Can you stay away from me?!”

I just walk down the hallway, still confused as f**k. Stopping a random nurse, I ask her a brief question.
"I need to use the restroom, can you direct me, please?”
