Kelvin's voice replays in my head as I rub my fingertips along the preferred locket Jayden chooses. It bears the first letter of his name, but Kelvin wants concrete proof to back him down.
"This fell off him when he broke into my property. Find the missing piece. If it tallies with this, alert me immediately... One last warning, he must never find it."
Cupping it in my palm, I put it back in my bag, obeying the last warning with every fiber of my being.
