Chapter Four The Plan There is more to a decent set of underpants than elastic. That night, Beatrice, over her favourite malt whisky, waited for George to appear from the bathroom. Normally she would be wondering what he was wearing, what had caused him discomfort during the card night, but not tonight; tonight she was mulling over “the plan.” She was in bed with her hair casually scrunched and her red “catch me if you can” T-shirt, which was long enough to work as a nightie, and matching red nails painted that morning.
