Mason stumbled as my palm landed on his cheek. I smirked, satisfied as different emotions crossed his features— surprise, confusion and anger.
“What the hell are you doing?!” He yelled.
“Please keep your voice down,” Serene whispered as her eyes darted around frantically. She turned to me, eyes wide with surprise. “What are you doing here, Aria?”
She yelped as I grabbed her hand, pulling her behind me. “Don't worry, you're safe now.”
“Wha—” She began but I cut her off. “You!” I turned to Mason with so much disdain. “How dare you try to use her for your selfish gain?! I'll f*****g kill you!” I whisper-yelled.
“What the hell are you talking about, you crazy woman!?” He replied, eyes flashing with fury and I scoffed. This i***t was playing dumb now, wasn't he?
