With a mountain of paperwork and several hours on his shift left to go, Adam took a quick break to grab a coffee. He pushed the button for the elevator and waited. His mind drifted to Allison’s face, her disappointment. He’d give her a few days to cool off before reaching out to her. Maybe they’d be able to fix this.
