What the he..

My dad is the CEO of Montgomery Law Firm, he also owns the College in town. He wasn’t always as successful as he’s now. Twenty years ago, my dad, mother and me lived in a tiny apartment and lived paycheck to paycheck. I’m surprised that we even made it. We struggled a lot when Alex came to the world because mom and dad couldn’t really afford another child at the time, but after a year my dad got a phone call from an old college friend about a job, and it has only went up from there.

Now he doesn’t have to think about money and is the CEO of the best law firm in New York. As the oldest he wants me to take over when he retires. He’s only in his forties, so that won’t be for a long time fortunately. I’m not ready to do that for years, I’m already overwhelmed by all of the work and all of the business meetings. I just started to work at the firm 1 year ago, so I´ll just have to do my work and hopefully it will get easier when I have found the rhythm.

I park my car and lock the door to the garage so non of the first-year students gets in there.

´´Hi Daim, you gonna join us?´´ Alex asked as I walked in to the kitchen.

´´No I´ll just grab a beer and do some work in the study, be careful tonight and use your head´´

´´Yeah yeah, I´ll throw everyone out before midnight.´´ Alex said while walking around setting up for tonight.

´´Alright, I´ll be upstairs if you need me. But don’t bother me if it isn’t important´´

I hear the music downstairs and watch people come in on the security cameras. It’s going to be a long night.. I work for about an hour when my phone starts to ring.

´´Hi dude, the guys and I are going out, join us man. You haven’t been out for so long, we are starting to miss you´´ my best friend John asked.

´´I wish I could. I have a lot of work to catch up on and Alex is throwing a party so I have to babysit him´´ I answered.

´´Oh come on man, he can take care of himself. We need some bro time, I haven’t seen you since new years and I feel like you are slipping away´´

´´I know, I really wish I could, I work…´´ I started to say, but then watching the monitor I saw a tall brunette walk in on the security camera. She looked really familiar, I just couldn’t put my finger on it.

´´Dude are you there? Did you hear what I said?´´ Josh asked.

´´I´m sorry, I have to go. Something happened downstairs, talk to you soon´´ I said without taking my eyes off of the camera.

I hung up the phone and switched to the living room camera. I watched her walk around shyly while surveilling the room, it doesn’t look like she knows anyone besides the blond she came in with.

I sat back in my chair and ran my hand through my hair in frustration, I am positive that I know her from some place.

I looked over to the screen again and zoomed in on her face when something caught my eyes. The photo of my family. I looked from them and then over to the screen again, and back to the picture again.

I shot up from my chair and stared in shock.

After a few minutes just standing there I started to dial my fathers phone number.

´´Has anything happened? Are you guys okey?´´ My father answered.

´´Get. Home. Now!´´ I yelled in to the phone and hung up.
