"Knock..knock..tok.."
This morning I was surprised by the sound of a knock on the door while enjoying my breakfast.
"Who visited this morning." I asked myself, then walked to the door and opened it.
"Eh, Ikhsan, it seems. Come in, mas, let's have breakfast first." My offer.
"Oh go on Jody, please." Say it while followed me from behind to the dining table.
"What's wrong, bro? Need help?" I asked while spooning the spicy fried noodles into my mouth.
"Oh no... I just want to play here. Bored at home alone."
"Where's Miss Tere, sir?"
"I've been going to work since this morning. The office is far away. So you have to go fast."
"Then you don't work yourself?"
"Yes, work too. Just work from home."
"Oh, I see. If I may ask, what kind of work do you do? How come you can do it at home?"
"Painting. I'm a painter, Jody."
"Oh, mas it's a painter.. can you paint Jody later?"
"Sure you can. That little thing."
"Oke.. don't be expensive, but."
"It's free for Jody. It's a neighbor. But only this time." He closed with a laugh.
Our conversation ended when I said goodbye to leave for campus when it was time shows ten o'clock.
When I got to campus, I immediately looked for my two best friends. But I didn't find any.
I glance at the clock on my hand. Damn, I'm already late.
I just remembered that the time is right
ten o'clock this morning was the hour of the first class.
Hurriedly, I ran towards the classroom. And oops..
From the end of the hall opposite me, Surya was also running towards class.
I smiled and got excited. After distance We're getting closer, I try to greet him.
"Eh Surya, are you late too?"
"Yeah, Jod. I forgot the class starts at ten. Come on, come on in." said Surya.
"Come on .. come on .. " I answered while trying to hold his hand .
"Already.. go first. Come in.." Surya ordered half pushed me into class.
"I want to go home woy .." Fandy shouted softly while chuckling.
"You guys. Where have you guys come from at this hour? My clock is about to end." The lecturer rebuked us.
"Yes sir, sorry. We forgot, sir, the class starts at ten. Because usually it's eleven, sir." I said trying to defend himself.
"Your excuses. How handsome you are forgetful. Sit over there." Lecturer orders.
I glanced at my two friends who were still giggling at me scolded by the teacher.
"Watch out you guys." I whispered as I passed their bench.
This afternoon after college, I'm getting ready to meet again with Tio the swimmer. I've decided to come clean with him about who I really am.
I'll meet her as Jody. No longer Jovanka.
I want to know how he will react. I also want to be clear, where this relationship will take later.
In the campus toilet, I sprayed my masculine perfume all over my body. I trimmed my hair again and made sure the appearance this time was quite okay, dashing and handsome.
Not long after, I finally arrived at the cafe where we used to meet. There were still fifteen minutes from our set clock. I purposely came first to reduce the nervousness in my heart.
After a while, Tio finally appeared with her macho appearance. I saw him looking around the cafe.
I know he's looking for Jovanka's figure.
"Have you arrived Vanka? How come you can't see it? What number is on the table?" Suddenly Tio sent me a message.
"I've arrived Tio all this time. I'm still looking at you instead. At table number 17. Here." I replied.
From afar, with a little confused and hesitant, Tio finally came closer to me.
I took a deep breath to stabilize the rhythm of my pounding heart.
"Hello.. are you Jovanka's friend? Where is she?" Tio asked as she arrived at my desk.
"Serrrrr..." my blood spilled down my toes when I heard his question.
I'm starting to get confused about the question. But I try my best to stay calm. I corrected the way I sat while allowing him to sit in front of me.
"Sit down Tio." I replied with a small smile.
"Well.. how come you already know my name? Are you Jovanka's friend? What's her name?" Tio asked again curiously.
I didn't answer the question. I called the waitress at the cafe to order food.
I gave him a menu book. After taking down all our orders, the waiter walked away while bring the menu.
"We'll talk about the kit later, Tio after eating. I'm hungry." My advice to Tio.
"It's okay." Tio replied while still busy with his cellphone.
Suddenly my phone vibrated because of an incoming call. I immediately checked, and it turned out that the number listed on the screen was Tio's number. Luckily, my cellphone's voice was still in a silent position since on campus earlier. So I'm safe.
I ignored the incoming call from Tio. I glanced at his face that looked worried and uncomfortable.
He also sent some messages but I didn't read them on purpose. Moreover, reply.
Finally our order menu arrived. I voraciously finished the chicken penyet and my favorite mango float.
I saw that Tio didn't seem very appetizing in eating the dish she ordered. While eating, his eyes darted here and there as if looking for something.
I know. He was still curious where Jovanka was. Why doesn't it show up? That must be what he had in mind.
But this is a good time to be honest with him. I have to be brave.
