Chapter 005 Imprisoned in the dungeon

“Wait!!”; echoed I,”I will move with Thane”

I could count Maverick's anger outnumbered like multiple stars.He released his grip on my tender flesh.I could read his evil thoughts,Death or endless life in the dungeon.

“Move with Alpha Thane?”; Maverick voice rumbled like a storm while the earth shook in rhythm.His voice tore my heart into shreds like a blade to fruits.Thane stood muted , watching me crouch on the ground and tired of the dangerous drama that's ongoing.I wanted to flee from both Alphas to a lone pack where I will rule the roost.Then The Alpha king Spoke.Pointing accusingly at Maverick.

“You aim at nothing but Selene's supernatural powers.You are so ambitious and you want to own the Universe.Maverick you want everything!.”

Maverick drew closer to Alpha Thane,both men locked in a fierce argument.

“I am not greedy like you Thane nor ambitious.You own all the packs including mine.I own Selene which is a prophecy from the Moon goddess.She is mine,she belongs to the Moonthar'zik pack!”.

Maverick offered his hand to lift me from the ground.He gave out a sly smile which only was noticed at the corner of his lips.”common little goddess,.back to your palace of Moonthar'zik or….he bent to whisper to my ears.I felt the pounding of his heartbeat beating mine to a pulp.The unpleasing words like a heavy storm .”You nest in the dungeon till the day of trial”.came the final word .

I looked up to Thane with my weak eyes, exhausted by Maverick's torture,threats and continuous cheats.I prefer the dungeon,am ready to die inside the dark hole .

Finally Thane spoke,his words soothing and courageous.”I have the final say as the Alpha king.Selene’s life should be spared .She should be set free”.

“For killing Lucas?,My only brother!!!?”;thundered Maverick.His words echoed in the woods as he ordered the Gammas to throw me inside the dungeon.They approached with the chains and shackles,their eyes sparkled red hot as they grabbed me off my feet.

“Stop!”; ordered Thane .

“Stop?”;enquired Maverick,”for facing a death penalty?”

“The murder was not intentional Maverick “,I whispered lightly.

Maverick turned to Thane,”it's the rule of the pack,none goes scot-free in a murder case not even the King of all Alphas.Your beautiful Queen must face the consequences.This is beyond your powers king Thane….”

Thane clenched his fists in knots but watched Maverick escort the gammas as they dragged me behind them.

“Selene”;a voice rang from the shadows “it's Nathan.I came for your rescue”

I could hear heavy thuds of feet over the dungeon,then a groan followed by a dead silence.My heart sank as I swallowed hard wondering what might have gone wrong with the King's Beta.

“Nathan!”;I screamed with all the strength left in me.

“Strangled and tossed to the woods”;came a quick reply.

“Nadira!”;I yelled, throwing out a lifeline.My heart racing fast.

Taunting from the shadows, Nadira peeped into the deep axis gloating over my misfortunes.

“Where's Nathan! Who murdered him!”?quaked I, trying hard to be brave .Nadira gave me a cold, mirthless laughter in reply then muttered into the deep hole .”murdered by your favorite Maverick”.

I got scared stiff,

“I dislike you Selene just the way your mother disliked mine and killed her”

“Nadira!”;My voice echoed as Lyra is clawing to get out.The beast in me howling for a combat.

“The truth must be unleashed Selene.You are my stepsister not my friend.I am your father's mistake , brought up in an abandoned pack that lies in the dense of the woods.Your mother maimed my mother out of jealousy”.

“Nadira?”,I called, trying to recall the friend I met playing alone in the woods.The orphan girl,that was more than a friend to the Nightshades family.”remember ,I saved your life”.

Nadira, laughing all the way to the bank screamed back.”do not sound innocent dear Selene.The more you recall the past,the more the hatred from me.I dislike you just the way, your mother disliked me and my mother before driving her to the Rogues”.

“Blatant liar”; I quaked,irked with everything within my reach.Lyra clawing to get out.The beast in me being restless and running wild,ready to get even on the enemy within.

“Stay tight Lyra”;I bellowed, struggling to keep the beast in me from stirring.The more I tried the more Nadira released her venoms.

Boiled in anger,I threatened to m**m Nadira by devouring her into pieces.”I have the power to kill you old friend”;said I.

“You are not different from your witch mother who drove my mother to death after catching her in a compromising position with your flirting father.l,the product of their nocturnal affair ,the only property left in the abandoned pack has risen to hit back .I Nadira Nightshade is the grief you sought after.The thick smoke from the witches hearth that shuts the nose of Diana.”;bragged Nadira

“Shut up,you ingrate!”;I screamed.Nadira laughing loud.Her roaring laughter shaking the ground.

“Now I am taking all that belongs to you , your power and your man, Maverick Blackthorn!.I will be the Luna of Moonthar'zik pack,I will use my black powers to rule a community of werewolves.I can't wait to see your blood spilled on the earth Selene.

“You devil”,I hissed,”I will use my powers and suck the life out of you”.

“You are too weak to do that Selene,not when Maverick is by my side.Not when the whole pack are waiting for your trials.You killed Lucas remember?;replied Nadira, hitting the surface of the jungle copiously as she spoke..

I heard a familiar howl backing her up, probably lurking in the shadows of the surface of the dungeon triumphantly.Then the voice of Nadira broke out threatening and casting spells which sent cold shivers down my spine.The voice of a household foe enveloped with evil thoughts.

“Be brave Selene,do not be perturbed”;Lyra spoke from within,”Diana is coming for our rescue”.

“Our rescue?”;I inquired, giving a long howl of doubt.Nadira laughed in return.I threw a stone towards the direction of her horrible end,it accelerated and hit me back on my forehead.I touched the injured spot and felt the warm blood oozing gradually down to my eyes.It temporarily blindfolded me..

“Selene”;I heard a voice called out from the dark surface.I didn't bother to seek out the person but struggled to feel the fingers of the rays of the moonlight.

“It's full moon Selene”;Lyra whispered softly.

I could feel the soft ray far from me,I touched my forehead,my powers returning back to me while the healing process continued.It healed abruptly, leaving no scar.

The night dragged on with thousands of howls echoing in the woods probably hailing the moon goddess as the moon climbed high in the sky .I started to draw a plan on how to escape the murky and dark friendless dungeon.The familiar howl drew closer to the dungeon shaking the ground.

“It's Maverick”; quipped Lyra.

“We can't go back to him.Not even the moon goddess will persuade us to do so .I believe that Thane will save me,the Alpha king of all the packs“;said I.

Suddenly I heard some heavy thuds of feet approaching the Dungeon.Freezed with fear,I shook like a leaf, preparing to confront the unknown.
