After the seminar, I returned to the monotonous and boring life of a graduate student. Every day, besides attending classes, I played video games, chatted online, collected photos, occasionally did some research, and wrote reports. I lived as decadently as possible. Before we parted that day, I mustered the courage to ask her for her phone number and address so I could contact her later. However, she only gave me one sentence: "If we are fated, we will meet again," and refused to give me any other information. All I knew was that she was studying at a university further south than mine. I had made several trips south to her school, hoping to run into her, but I never found her. I began to suspect that she might have lied about where she was studying. However, her senior's school matched what she had told me. Yang Ying, that fleeting encounter during a business trip, was like a flash of lightning—gone in an instant, leaving no trace. This year was a warm winter. Except for the three days I spent on a business trip to Tamsui, I mostly wore short sleeves throughout the winter in southern Taiwan. Occasionally, I wore long sleeves or a light jacket. The girls, of course, seized this great opportunity to show off their figures and legs, but they could only be admired from afar. This often made me reminisce about that night when Yang Ying was on top of me. I tried to separate the pain from her forceful impact and focus on the sensation of a woman's body, then magnify it and savor it repeatedly. From the dim light, I enhanced the image of her naked body in my memory, trying to extract every little detail to complete the picture in my mind. Our second meeting and conversation also frequently occupied my thoughts. On the outside, I was still me, but I knew she had left an indelible mark on my heart. However, if it ended there, she would forever be a beautiful regret, a small peak in the otherwise mundane landscape of my memories. Although noticeable, it would still be insignificant. "Brother Xiong, let's go to Kenting for a trip!" Zhiming suggested. "Are you crazy? Going to Kenting? Don't you know there's a strong wind in Kenting during winter?" I said. "That's exactly why we should go and experience it," he said. "Why would you want to leave a comfortable life to face the strong wind? Are you out of your mind?" "Hehe, young people should experience and try everything. That's what makes life interesting." Although I kept saying I wouldn't go, I couldn't resist Zhiming's persuasion. He even booked the hotel for me, forcing me to go. On one hand, I was bored and had nothing to do, and on the other hand, I was tempted by his words. You only live once, so why not go crazy once? However, three minutes before departure, I realized I had been set up! Zhiming was riding a heavy motorcycle with his girlfriend, Hua Hua. They were cuddling and enjoying the ride, no matter how cold or windy it was. I, on the other hand, was riding alone, following them and eating their exhaust, enduring the cold wind. I was their backup in case their motorcycle broke down. By the end of the day, I hadn't seen much scenery, but I felt the cold for the second time this year. In the evening, I wanted to stroll around Kenting's streets. The couple, of course, wanted to warm up in their own way. You can imagine how they would warm up. If you don't know how your parents made you, then you must be really clueless. "Hey, Brother Xiong, take your time strolling and bring us some food and drinks when you come back," Zhiming said as he saw me off. "You really did a good job! Be careful, I might poison you," I said. "Hehe, Brother Xiong, don't be like that. Next time! Next time, I'll prepare someone for you too. This time, her junior was supposed to come, but she canceled at the last minute. Next time! I promise I won't let you down..." I didn't want to listen to his insincere promises anymore, and to avoid his incessant chatter, I quickly escaped. When I got to the street, I realized that in this cold winter with strong winds, the streets were nothing like the bustling summer. The night market stalls were all gone, and the streets were deserted. Besides a few stray cats and dogs rummaging through the trash, there were no tourists or even a single person. Only the shop owners occasionally glanced at me with strange looks. Sigh, how am I supposed to kill two hours in this situation? Unknowingly, I had walked to the Howard Hotel. Forget it, I'll go to the Star Pier to have some fun! After entering, since there weren't many people, I quickly played all the games I was interested in. I didn't want to play the physically demanding ones, so I ordered a drink and sat outside. Suddenly, someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Yang Ying! "Hey, we meet again, you pervert!" she said. "Huh?" I was stunned for a moment. "What about you? Aren't you a pervert too?" "Hey, I'm not a pervert. Unlike some people who have dirty thoughts all the time," she said. I shrugged my shoulders and spread my hands. "Can't help it. When a pervert like you tempts me, I have to be a pervert too." "Hey, you're getting more and more outrageous. How is it my fault that you're a pervert?" "Of course!" I said seriously. "If there weren't beauties like you in this world, I wouldn't want to be a pervert." "You..." She seemed taken aback by my serious demeanor and was momentarily speechless. "You pervert! How many innocent girls' hearts have you deceived with such words? Confess now!" she quickly countered. "I'm serious!" I continued to speak seriously. And I really meant it. "You..." "I'm very serious," I said again. "You really... really..." She seemed embarrassed and couldn't find the words. "I'm really, really serious..." I emphasized again, "about deceiving you!" "!" "Hahaha" "Ah!" "Help!" "Don't run!" "Ouch! That hurts!" "Still running?" In the ensuing chaos, everyone was looking at us. "Stop!" "Stop!" "Ouch! It hurts!" "Stop!" I grabbed her hands to stop her from hitting me further.
