Episode 11 - Not a Joke

Episode 11

(Xandra p.o.v)

I heard whatever Daniel said before he fall asleep. What is he saying? What has happened? Why wait? Did he not trust me? All the question jumble on each other in my head. But you hurt me Daniel. You betray my love. How can you say you love me?

Time lapsed.

I woke up after one hour nap and found Gabriel is nowhere around. Exiting the theatre and going into the bathroom near the living room. After freshen up a bit, I walk to the kitchen to find Susan and Gabriel talking. Before I could enter the kitchen, I heard Susan asking, “Are you sure she’s yours? Did Xandra tell you? When do you know about her?”. And lots of another question thrown to Gabriel, not waiting for him to answer. Gabriel sighed and pull Susan to the chair near him. “I’m not 100% sure about it but when I saw the girl, she resembles a lot of me than Xandra. When she touched me, I can feel the attachment. My heart was thudding hard against my chest. I need to know the truth, whether she’ll inform me herself or I’ll do the biological test to confirm it.

I had a strong feeling that she’s mine.

I took a step back a bit and pretend to cough slightly. Suddenly, they stop talking and turn to me with a smile. Gabriel gesture for me to come to the kitchen and sit beside him. “Susan is great at making pumpkin pie and so far, I never taste another pumpkin pie as good as hers”, Alex said. At the same time, Susan plated a piece of the pie and usher me to take a bite. Once I bite the piece, my eyes sparkles with amusement. The pie was so soft and delicate and it melt in your mouth. I moan deliciously while closing my eyes. Suddenly I hear Alex chuckle beside. When I opened my eyes, Susan and Alex smiling at me. My cheeks went tomato red. “Susan, the pie is so delicious. I love it so much. I could eat the whole pie”, I praised Susan. “Well, I can bake it for you anytime you want to it if you staying here”, she smiling to me. I nearly choked myself with the pie. My cheek was a red as tomato. Gabriel chuckled looking at me and I rolled my eyes back to him. I thought Susan already stopped with the question, but then looking at me, “ So Xandra, what about staying here with us?”. I frowned but smiled at her with my answer, “How I wish.... but this not my house....ummphh.. sorry not house, its a Mansion. It’s not mine. How can I stay here”. Her answered made me froze at my place, “Well.... be Gabriel’s wife. I now my Gabe will love that”. I don’t expect that from her. Gabriel was gazing at me. He walked towards me and sling his hand to my waist and pulling me to him. I press my palm to his chest to stop the protest but once my hand touch his hard chest, it sent warm shivers to my body. My cheeks blush from the impact. He hugs me tightly and whisper huskily to my ear, “I think she’s right. I would love to make you Mrs Carson. Would do you think?”. 

I pushed him away and suprisingly he let me. I glared at him. “ It’s not funny Gabriel. Its not something that you can simply say like that.” He paused and looking straight in my eyes, “Do you see me laughing Xandra?. Or maybe you the one who think this is a joke. For you info, I never take marriage as a joke. It’s a sacred relationship and should be respect by both man and womam involved. His eyes darkened looking at me. He’s not smiling anymore and it makes me feel uneasy. Without hesitant I asked him to take me home. I just can’t be with him at thr moment. I feel angered, unsure of my feeling and also his.

Gabriel look pissed and his eyes seems to show regret in it. He suddenly said goodbye to Susan who hugging him and rub her hand on his back whispering something to him, look like soothing him down. He just nod and turned around and gesture to me to follow him taking our leave. Our journey back home was in silent. He not even once looking or gazing at me. I was really not comfortable. I just sighed and turn my head to look outside the window. Not sure when I dozed away. 

I was awake when a hand smoothly caress my cheek and whisper for me to wake up. I lazily opened my eyes and after thanking him, get out from the car and into the house.
