"Domenic who?"
"Dominic Luppino. He needs to know he's been double-crossed. I need to find him." She said before her eyes closed.
Fuck how did she even know who he was? I needed to know how she knew him and where he was from.
As far as I was aware, Domenic was in Australia. He owned several businesses there. He was a multi-billionaire and he had earned his money through different ventures. Most of them are not good.
He was worse than the Mafia. He has made a good name for himself over the years as the most feared CEO of Luppino industries. He was a ruthless drug lord and most of his dealings were done off the grid. What have you got yourself into Tiara?
The only thing I could do was wait till she woke up and ask her straight out how she knew the great business tycoon of Australia, but I wouldn't tell her the reason I wanted to know. She shouted out that she wanted to find him. She needed to tell him something. It must've been important enough for her to want to reach out to him, and I was going to help her accomplish it once I knew what she wanted to tell him.
I held her hand in mine, looking at her. God, she was so beautiful. I can't understand why Shaun treated her like trash. She had always seemed so happy with her when we were all at college, so what had changed?
I had fallen in love with her the moment our eyes met at my party. I vowed from that day I would take her away from Shaun and make her happy and make her forget that he had ever existed.
I leaned down and kissed her knuckles. "I promise Shaun will never get to you again, angel, and I'll make sure you'll forget everything about him. Your mine, angel and anyone that gets in the way will wick they never had."
"No, no, please stop! No, no please, I beg you!" Tiara shouted, thrashing on the bed.
"No!" She screamed, and the nurse came running in, and she went to put the needle into her arm. I put my hand up. It seemed as if she was having a nightmare. Giving her a relaxant would only make her worse and she could go into an epileptic fit or a seizure. The nurse stood back, and I squeezed Tiara's hand. "Shh angel, it's okay, you're safe."
"No!" She screamed, shooting up. Her eyes widened as she looked around the room.
"Shh angel, it's okay you're safe.
She looked at me dazed. "Reece."
I smiled.
She flung her arms around me, hugging me tightly. She'd never been this close to me before, let alone ever hugged me once I had gotten over her initial shock. I wrapped my arms around her and embraced her. Tightening my arms around her into a hug.
'It's okay no one will ever get to you here. I promise."
She nodded, continuing to hold onto me as if her life depended on it. Sobbing onto my tee-shirt.
"It's okay Shaun will never get to you here, let alone anyone else. I promise."
She eventually pulled out of the hug. I wiped her tear-stained eyes, handed her a tissue and smiled. She returned my smile, wiping her wet eyes and nose.
"You don't have to tell me what got you so worked up, but I'd like to know where you've been over the past six years, how Shaun, how you did marry him and how on earth you know Dominic Luppino."
She nodded, looking into my eyes. Her eyes were all puffy from her.
She breathed heavily. "Stacy and Jacob helped me get away from Shaun."
I nodded and continued to listen.
"I and Stacy said our goodbyes to Jacob."
"Jacob never went with you?"
"No, he seemed to think it was for the best, so I could start again somewhere Shaun wouldn't find me. We went to America where Stacy and I studied for the next four years. We worked at different bars there to pay for our residence. We made friends and I met someone who wasn't who I thought he was. Stacy and I met Kristian. But, she worked with him whereas I worked at the other bar he owned. It was all going well until Shaun showed up demanding I marry him, or he'd make sure I never saw Stacy again. I agreed just to save my best friend.
On the wedding day, I got kidnapped and woke up on a plane heading to Australia with my best friend and Kristian.
We began to work at Big Bob's, where I met Benji." She said, smiling. I needed to find out who this Benji was and why he was so special to her.
"Everything was going great. I loved the job. I was working alongside Benji. He had never taken another barmaid but me. None of them ever worked as hard as I did." She stopped and sighed. "To answer your question about where I met Dominic Luppino. It was in the VIP Room, he had requested me and Benji work up there and put on a little show. No, nothing perverted, just us dancing.
He introduced himself to me and asked for a dance. He came to me whilst I was working in the bar the following day and offered me a job, a better job with him."
My eyes went wide. Dominic Luppino never offers anyone a job unless he sees something special in them. "Are you sure he offered you a job angel? That's one thing he never does."
"I'm sure. I rejected his offer."
"Are you insane? No one rejects a job offer from Dominic Luppino and I mean no one."
"Well, I did."
"I bet he wasn't too happy with your refusal. He didn't take no for an answer."
"I know. He said he'd get me to work with him one way or another. But, I haven't seen Domenic for a while."
"So. Tell me how you angel, how did you and Shaun get married?"
Tears welled in her eyes, slipping down her cheek. I put my thumb under her eye, wiping it away. "It's okay, angel. I won't judge you."
"He came into the VIP Room with some other men I didn't recognize. I have no idea how they pulled it off. Friday nights were usually booked for Domenic and his associates only. I recognized Shaun straight away, but Benji didn't know who he was. We continued with what we were supposed to do. I couldn't handle being in the same room as him, so I excused myself.
When I came back out of the ladies and pinned me to the wall, injecting me with something, I have no recollection of what happened next or what had happened to Benji.
He made sure I didn't run a second time and made sure everything ran smoothly at our wedding. After that, he changed into a monster. Callum tried several times to save me from him and failed. He always managed to find us and take us back to his mansion.
They arrested him for physical abuse, but he managed to get himself out of prison and find us all again. He was so angry Reece. I've never seen him like that. I thought I was going to die in his hands for sure this time."
I pulled her into me, wrapping my arms around her. "I'll make sure it never hurts you again angel."
She nodded.
"Now tell me why you think the great Dominic Luppino is being double-crossed?"
"Because he is by someone he trusted, who tipped off a guy named Kasapien off to my whereabouts. That's the only reason Shaun found me."
"Do you know who that person was?"
She nodded. "Yes."
"Who was that person, angel?"
"Killian Demetri. He's one of Domenic's associates. I met him once in the VIP Room. He backstabbed him because he wanted what he couldn't have."
I gritted my teeth. Domenic and Killian had worked with each other for years, so why had he gone against him?
"I'm not even sure if Shaun had him killed after our conversation. I know he did it because he wanted to get me away from Domenic and have me all to himself, but that didn't work."
"I'll help you find Domenic on one condition: you stay here with me and let me take care of you. I promise Shaun will never find you or hurt you ever again."
She smiled. "Deal."
I smiled, moving forward, kissing her softly before moving away. "We can do this Tiara, me and you against the world. I'll even help you get a divorce from Shaun, so you can start all over again."
"Thank you, Reese. I don't know how I'm ever going to repay you."
"Just promise you'll never leave me."
"I promise."
