She placed a hand on her waist and glared at him, “Alright then, go on.” He blinked at her in confusion, “What? Right here?” She squinted at him, “You think I’d let you into my office? After all you've done to me?” “Gen,” he sighed when he saw the stubborn look on her face, then his eyes swept through the office swiftly, “I can’t see the flowers I sent to you.” She shrugged, “That’s on you. If you had come a week or so earlier, you’d have found it in the dumpster at the back of the building.” He nodded, “I’m sorry, Genevieve,” he blurted out, “I was in a very tight spot. It was either your job or both of ours,” he tried to take her hand but she backed away and glared at him, “I had to make a difficult decision, Gen. You love me, don’t you? Someone had to take the fall for both of us.
