The Prince’s Curse

CHAPTER 1

The prince's promiscuous lifestyle worried the entire people of Marshshore, including the king even more. How will he rule Marshshore with such lifestyle now that he is the next heir to the throne? Logan continued drinking, and every night a different woman would make his bed. To be acknowledged by the people, so he can be crowned as the prince, Logan must make changes before his coronation, which was just around the corner. He feigned to change to impress the king, his father that threatened not to crown him if he did not change to a better person. He then hid out with Aiden, his personal guard and friend since childhood, Aiden and Logan were more of friends than master and servant. They went everywhere together, they returned to the tavern to keep on drinking. King Albert set the date of his coronation because he believed his son had let go of his dissolute lifestyle. In Marshshore, only members of the royal household and chamberlains are allowed to attend the coronation of the royal family.

The king arranged a banquet in honor of the crowned prince and invited all of his subjects to come in and dine and celebrate with him because he was so pleased that the prince had changed from his former ways and that his bloodline would continue to rule Marshshore. After being named the new heir to the throne, that was prince Logan's first appearance before his subjects. While the subjects danced to music, food, and drink, he sat next to his father on the left and his mother, Queen Rose, on the right. He didn't seem interested in any of the lovely women present in the banquet, despite their presence. The queen had informed him that the noblemen's daughters would be in attendance, and wanted him to choose a bride that will rule with him.

Logan stared at the door to the banquet hall before a very beautiful damsel entered. He was captivated by her beauty; she had fair skin, and men stared as she entered wearing a stunning blue dress that was so expertly fitted, it was obvious it was made of the finest silk. She made an effort to blend in as she stood in a corner. “Who is the stunning woman who just stepped in?”, Logan asked Aiden. Although Aiden had no idea who she was, he was aware that the prince wanted to speak with her. “I don't believe I have ever seen such beauty in Marshshore's”, Aiden told the young woman as he approached her. She smiled. She was told by Aiden that the prince had fallen in love with her because of her beauty and that he would like to speak with her privately, away from the music and dancing. She initially turned down the prince's invitation, but then changed her mind and followed Aiden outside, as they stepped outside she asked him where the prince was meeting her, he told her not to worry it would be in his quarters, that he was already waiting for her, Aiden had to return to the banquet and handed over to a guard to show her to the prince’s room. As the lady walked through the palace hallway, she was thrilled; it was her first time visiting the palace and loved all the aesthetic, she arrived the prince’s chambers, the guard who escorted her asked her to on in. As the guards pushed the door open, revealing Almira, Logan remarked, “I must say you are definitely an angel”, as the lovely banquet guest entered his quarters. "I must hurry and return to the feast, may I know why the noble prince asked to see me in his chambers? It is improper for the prince to be seen in private with a lady" In response to her question, Logan grinned and replied, "I am delighted you called me noble, that made me like you even more. So tell me, why am I only seeing you for the first time today, I can tell you are the daughter of one of the noblemen in this country but more of a princess whose servant take so much care of”. “I'm very privileged to have the chance to talk with you in person, your Highness, but I must head back to the party”. The prince was so enraged that he dragged her back as she proceeded towards the door and turned to go. Logan urged, "Stay with me, don't leave”. When she attempted to exit the door once more, he shoved her onto the bed and forced himself against her. The guards tried to investigate what was happening after hearing her screams, but he told them to go that everything was alright. “Why would you want to take your beauty away from me? Can you not see I have fallen in love with you already, I couldn’t help it, you made me do it”, Logan said. When he stood up, the lady was weeping profusely, “I didn't realize you were so cruel, why would you hurt me like this and then blame me for it, you are cursed instead of living as a full human, you will turn into a wolf-man”. She said while sobbing bitterly. “Guards! Throw her out of the palace, who does she think she is to curse the crowned prince, ha! I do not want to see her”.
