I just saw an angel

Xavier’s POV “This evening, all my management staff, 8:00pm” I ordered as I came down my majestic stairs at home I didn’t care if it was Friday night. Someone was tampering with my finances at Verve I gave the order once and Jacob knew not to question me “All the cars are fueled up right?” I asked Eric, my home manager as I reached the end of my stairs “Yes sir. Serviced, washed and fueled” Eric answered me “I’ll take my favorite” I said taking my 2025 Tesla SUV key from the tray of keys Eric held up to me “Get Vance, I’m not driving today” I instructed and my driver, Vance was on my service That was how my mornings went Waking up in my big dark library after falling asleep on case files Running on barely 4hrs of sleep throughout the day Planning designs and adding structure to my fashion company, Verve Giving orders and getting any service I wanted It was calm but it felt empty and repetitive sometimes Everyone around me was either a staff or a sycophant except Jacob Jacob was my right hand man, we grew up together The house keeper’s son who is now my personal assistant and best friend “You have a meeting by 10am in your chambers” Jacob reminded me as we got into the car “Yeah, the Thompsons” I recalled, carrying the family’s profession on my shoulders proudly That basically summed my life It was black and white … “So where did the remaining 300k go?” I watched my manager, Carlos yell at Peter, my financial secretary at Verve I watched them closely, gnashing my teeth The manager was either not doing his job well or was part of this theft but I didn’t want to assume anything yet “It was deposited for recruitment of models and make up sir” Peter answered trembling “That was where the first 150k went!” The manger yelled hitting documents on the table They were spiraling I was going to deal with both of them but I needed some sleep first I could feel my brain shutting down I stood up angrily and went to the window frame of the meeting room I didn’t smoke but I could really use a puff now I looked out the windows of the 6th floor of my business building to a busy city Everyone doing their business, many rushing home to unwind Weird movements that I found funny caught my attention from there Two females walking hurriedly I sighted an angel She moved beneath the street lights with confidence although fast paced Her caramel skin was glowing under the amber lights Her shiny long brown hair shifting with the breeze of the night I couldn’t catch fine details but she drew my attention She carried a presence that reached a farther than a face could reach I watched her hit my car across the street and Vance yell at her I was mad at Vance for a second, it was obviously an accident I could only imagine her sorry eyes as I watched her body language “Jacob” I called my personal assistant to the window “I just saw an angel” I said pointing at the brown haired lady then I walked back to the round table Jacob already knew what to do, he could read my mind so he left the room I went back into the room where Carlos kept pressing on hopeless Peter In the middle, Jacob called my private cell phone “Yes, good evening” I heard the most melodious raspy voice I’d ever heard It was like that of a kitten with a tiny morning voice I fell silent, took the phone off my ear and stared at it I know how women faked their voices. This wasn’t fake I liked her … After the meeting, I went up to the seventh floor of my business building That was the upmost floor and a condo for me It was like that in all my buildings since I barely slept at night I retired there before midnight, freshened up and slept off 2 hours later… “Jade Scavo, daughter of Rex Scavo, an immigrant from Italy who is now a lecturer” Jacob recited as I turned around on my bed signifying that I was almost awake No one dared to literally wake me up “She’s from a good background” “Mhmm” I answered yawning “But she’s 19” Jacob said and time froze I got up immediately and went to freshen up Nineteen?? Oh no! “Nineteen is not a baby you know” Jacob compensated as he watched my movements “I’m in my thirties man” I reminded him from the bathroom “She can’t handle it” I added “For what it’s worth, her voice and attitude had a sense of maturity in it” Jacob explained “Her almond brown eyes are striking too. I almost got lost in them” “Her face is soft and had gentle contours” He kept compensating He kept yapping about her looks Was he now interested in her? “Back off. She’s mine! Where’s she?” I snapped I felt jealous already
