I need some time to think. Jade’s POV

798 Words
Grace’s birthday weekend was so lit We went shopping and had a full day for self care that Saturday It was like the money couldn’t finish We ordered Chinese and while watching a show, Xavier called “Hey princess” that powerful voice came again “Hii” I answered whimsically “How are you doing?” He asked nicely “I’m fine. How about you?” “I’m okay. How was your day?” Why was I so excited? Was it the money? He knew how to talk to me the way I liked He sounded like he cared about my well being Was this the lovebombing Elma was talking about? “Oh my friends and I went to the store and restocked skincare and make up products today…” I excused myself to the balcony and yapped all about the day while he listened carefully He never interrupted me He was also inquisitive about it all “So what does niacinamide do” he asked like he wanted to start skincare too “I don’t really know but it soothes my skin really well so I use the serum” I answered again “You’re so whimsical” he laughed from the other end I smiled back at my phone “My business has to do with women and their beauty products too” He informed me “I’ll send you a parcel sometime” He added “Aww, you’re so kind” “It’s my pleasure, princess” “Can I send a ride to you when you’re ready to retire to school” He asked pleasantly “Okay, that’ll work” I answered smiling Why was I smiling at his words? He left me to enjoy my remaining weekend … My friends and I watched a bunch of shows, caught up on the latest gossip amongst our peers We yapped about college over drinks we couldn’t afford on a normal day Our faces covered in masks It was the best weekend a nerd could wish for! … Sunday morning The girls and I were having a lazy morning We ordered breakfast from an expensive cafe we found online We put on loud girly music and danced around the apartment on pyjamas We made a bunch of videos and posted about Friday night too I didn’t want the little get together to end For the first time, I wasn’t all about school … Sunday evening “Jade, hey. I’m on my way to you now” I already knew Jacob’s voice from the other night “Hi, good evening” I greeted him “Yeah. Pack your things. I need to drop you off at school” he continued “Oh I know. I’m almost ready. Thanks” “I’ll forward the thanks to my boss” He replied He had a great sense of humor I started to feel like I didn’t want to go back to school that evening I loved it here Grace was leaving for Arizona on Tuesday and I didn’t know when I was going to see her again She was staying about 4hrs away and she was a law student so she was busy too She was my best friend in high school and now we barely have time for each other I kept giving her hugs that evening, I knew I wasn’t going to see her for a while I was already missing her Shortly after 6:30pm, Jacob came to pick me up in the same SUV I bashed “Hey Jade” he called me when he parked outside the gate “Hi” I answered the phone ready with my packed luggage I got into the car and he drove me back to school “My boss really likes you” he started in the car “Awww” I didn’t know why he was telling me that My mind was filled with assumptions people on campus would make when they saw the car dropping me off How and what people would tell Andrew Does this make me a call girl? I thought to myself “You should consider him” he said from nowhere “We’re not like that” I defended “I know I know” Jacob blabbed on the steering wheel “I need time to think okay?” I said harshly before I held myself back “Sure” he answered with a sad tone The ride was silent till we got to campus I already texted Elma all about it so she came out to escort me to my dorm I said thank you to Jacob, smiled at him and left the car That was that I was relieved it was over I was back to school, back to reality…
