I’ll make you comfortable. Jade’s POV

I don’t blink throughout the ride

“So what are you doing here tonight”

The pretty man asked as we pulled over in front of the apartment Grace booked

“I’m dressing up here for a birthday party sir”

I answered calmly

“Mmm I don’t think my boss will like it, let’s take you somewhere else”

He replied looking at the environment in disbelief

“My name is Jacob, enough with the sir please” he continued

“Thank you but my friend has already paid” I counted

“She’ll be out soon”

“Oh there she is” I breathed a sigh of relief seeing Grace step out of a gate

She stepped out with wandering eyes across the road looking for me. I was definitely not in that SUV parked there

“Interesting” Jacob exclaimed

“You guys should have a good time, we’ll be around” He continued

“I need to leave now sir” I said touching the door I didn’t know how to open

The driver came down then opened the door for me

I could hear Grace’s gasp from across the road

“Thanks for the ride” I appreciated the driver and Jacob

“Yeah, we’ll take you back too” Jacob answered

“No!” I screamed subconsciously

“See you” he laughed

I crossed over to Grace who was obviously waiting for the tea

“Girl!” She screamed and hugged me

“What in the world Jade” she continued as the SUV drove off

“I need the tea now!!”

“Can I take my bag down first at least” I laughed

We both entered our little apartment rented for that night

I met Grace’s new friends, they were all so cool

I bonded well with Grace and got some life update while doing our makeup

Then we headed to the club at midnight for the party of our lives

“Babes, who keeps calling your phone” one of Grace’s friends asked shouting so I could hear her amidst the loud music

“I don’t knowww, I’ll get it later” the alcohol in my system replied

I looked at my phone still dancing crazily and it was a couple of minutes past 2am

Was it school work?

What was so urgent at 2am

Some men at the club called us to their table and kept spraying us cash

It was the first time I perceived weed too, I loved it

I didn’t want to leave this setting

The call came again so I left to the bathroom to pick up

“Hello” I answered the phone dizzy and like I was being forced to

“Hi Jade” a deep, rich and unhurried voice came from the other end of the phone

The sound of the voice was chilling and sent a pleasant shiver down my spine

I ended the call

I ran to the sink and washed my face with water vigorously

The boss??

My phone rang again, the same number

I picked up

“I’m outside the club Jade, come down”

My breath almost seized

The feeling was bitter sweet

The SUV I bashed?

I opened the bathroom door and the music was beginning to make me feel dizzy

I wasn’t feeling the party vibe anymore

The club was upstairs and had a whole sit and chill spot downstairs

I texted Grace that I was going downstairs to relax then I left

Coming down, I noticed a train of black tinted cars inside the club compound when I came down

Before I could process it all, my phone rang again

The same number ending with - 854

I looked at it scared then I got tapped from behind, it was Jacob

“Scaredy cat, my boss is in the third car” he said as he pulled me gently to the third car

Before the door was opened, I could feel the commanding aura, another bittersweet feeling again

I could feel the fear in my stomach

“Hey princess” the deep magnetic voice came from inside as I stepped in

I saw a face you only see on TV

This man was movie star handsome! He had defined features, a strong jawline, straight nose, thick brows and long lashes he didn’t deserve

I didn’t know what was more distracting, his rich cologne or his piercing gaze

“Good evening sir” I said lowering my head to my exposed thighs

“My name is Xavier and I’m not here to hurt you” he reassured noticing my body language

His voice echoed through my head

It was just two of us in the cold car

“I’m not here for the accident with my car” he continued

“I like you, Jade”

This boss was straightforward

“I want to learn more about you”

My heart was melting. I longed to be known as a person

“I want you by my side”

“I’ll make you comfortable” he said and placed a big suit on my shoulders

“Thank you sir” I raised my head up to his stormy but kind eyes

“Xavier please” he smiled and softened his sharp features

He was effortlessly confident and easygoing
