CHAPTER 2 Scolded

1000 Words
Samantha's POV "Where were you?" my manager asked me when I came back to my tent. "I just took care of something. Don't worry, aunt Angie. I'm fine." I rolled my eyes as I answered her. My manager is actually my aunt. My father's younger sister. She has been a widow for five years now. She couldn't have a child because of a health condition. She has her own talent agency, but she wants to personally manage me rather than hiring someone to do the job. She's really nice and caring, but I am just annoyed sometimes because she is even more overprotective than my mom. I love her so much, even though sometimes she's too controlling, because I know in my heart that she's treating me as her own daughter. She sighed at my response and said "I am just being careful now, I can't let that event from last week to ever happen again. I really want to sue that sponsor of yours along with that pervert for not taking good care of you. They don't even have the best crowd control team to protect their artist. And you're not just an artist, you are a Hollywood's sweetheart and one of the highest paid actresses today despite your age." she answered angrily and proudly at the same time. Blah blah blah Well, I can't blame her for acting like this today. Last week, while we were doing an outdoor photoshoot for an expensive car endorsement, someone suddenly came to me out of nowhere and hugged me so tight that I was left astounded and out of breath because he was holding me so tight. I was panicking and starting to cry out of fear because the man was whispering 'you're mine Samantha' over and over that I almost fainted because of the overwhelming fright. The photoshoot had been re-scheduled because I was shaking in fear when they managed to free me from that unknown man's very tight hold. The police took care of the man after all the commotions. It still gives me goosebumps whenever I think about it. That event took the internet into an uproar because angry fans were everywhere cursing and threatening the man. Others commented that fans should also know their limits when it comes to the way they interact with their idols. Well, it was the first time since I was 12. In my 10 years in the industry, I have encountered many different kinds of fans and anti-fans at the same time. But, it was really the first time that someone penetrated very close to me. "Aunt Angeline, I'm really fine. I just asked for some help from my leading man for the lines we will have for the next scenes." I explained to her. Of course, I won't tell her the real score, right? "Next time, wherever you go bring with you your bodyguards, okay? I already told you not to go anywhere without them," she said. Disappointment is still evident in her tone. "Alright, aunt." I sighed in defeat. "I'm really sorry for worrying you," I added sincerely. "You even left your phone. That's why I was mad. Just promise you won't do this again, okay?" Her expression softened and became more relaxed. "Yes, aunt. Thank you for everything," and finally, she left me in peace after kissing my cheek. My PA entered with my personal make-up artist after my aunt left. They did my make-up so that I would be ready for the shooting. I can still remember what happened earlier. "That practice kiss was really good," I mumbled to myself out of nowhere that even my make-up artist stopped from what he was doing because he thought I was saying something to him. But I just said that I am just memorizing my lines. Hell of me, I can still feel his lips to mine. I can't take away from my mind those beautiful dark eyes staring at me. The way he held me in his arms. What are these strange feelings? I can't even concentrate now. I sighed. Pull yourself together, Sam, or you will be a laughingstock later. "It's done!" My make-up artist declared happily. He said he's always enjoying putting colors and enhancements to my face because of my beauty. He even said that I don't need heavy make -up because my lashes are already thick and long, not to mention curled up already. I have a small heart-shaped face that I got from my mom. I got my deep blue eyes from my dad. Well, I am a product of mixed races. My father is an American while my mother is half-Filipino, half-Chinese. My grandfather is a Chinese business tycoon while my grandmother is a pure Filipina from Cebu. My father's side has always been in the entertainment industry because my paternal grandfather is a well-known actor and singer in Hollywood. My father is also very handsome, but he doesn't like acting, so he just ventured on producing films and albums for different genres of music. I am actually the youngest in my family. My eldest brother is the CEO of my grandfather's corporation, while my second brother is a lawyer. Only I can continue the legacy of my grandfather to my father's side. I wanted to become a pilot but it broke my heart when my grandfather sadly confessed to me how it pained him that no one from his children and even grandchildren would want to become an artist like him. So, instead of pursuing aviation, I enrolled in Musical Theater in college. "It's time to go, the PD is already calling us." I snapped back to reality when my PA called out. I heaved a deep sigh. "Okay, let's go!" Gosh, I'm nervous again. I kind of feel shy to face him again. However consoling I do to myself, I still can't get any justification for what I did. I asked someone to teach me how to kiss for Christ's sake!
