Alice tried to push Enzo away—but to her dismay, she realized she had no strength left.
Blushing furiously, she whispered, “This… this isn’t right. You’re my uncle.”
Enzo raised an eyebrow.
“I’m Justin’s uncle. When did I become yours?”
Alice fumbled for words, flustered.
“My engagement with Justin hasn’t been officially called off yet. So technically, I should address you the same way he does… as ‘Uncle Enzo.’”
Enzo gave her a sharp, amused look.
“Would you sleep with your own uncle?”
She shook her head quickly.
“That was an accident! And you said it yourself—you weren’t going to take responsibility.”
Enzo shrugged casually.
“Did I say that? I only said I wouldn’t help you break off your engagement with Justin.”
Alice looked at him, confused.
“Then what do you mean?”
Enzo leaned in close, his breath brushing against her skin. He kissed the edge of her ear softly, then whispered:
“Isn’t it obvious?
Marry Justin…
And become my mistress.”
Alice froze, as if struck by lightning.
She stared at Enzo, her voice trembling as it forced its way out of her throat.
“Are you insane?”
She shoved him hard, eyes wide with shock and fury.
“That night... it was just an accident!” she snapped, tears glinting in her eyes. “But what are you doing now? I’m your nephew’s fiancée!”
Her voice rose, shaking with emotion as she stood her ground.
“I came to you today only because I wanted help ending the engagement. But you—” she choked, pain and anger twisting her expression, “you didn’t help me. You humiliated me. What do you take me for?”
She took a step back, disappointment flickering across her face.
“I will never be your mistress, Enzo. Never.”
She reached for the door, only to realize he hadn’t moved. He stood there, blocking her path, unyielding. She looked up at him, her voice cold now:
“Let me go. I’m not begging anymore.”
Silence fell like a weight between them—just her ragged breathing and his suffocating presence pressing down on her.
Then, Enzo spoke, his arms tightening around her.
“If you don’t agree,” he said, calm and cruel, “I’ll tell everyone you slept with me.”
Alice looked at him like he was a stranger. A madman.
“What do you gain from that?” she whispered, her voice barely holding together.
Enzo gave her a slow, cutting smile.
“The satisfaction of watching Justin and his father’s pride crumble to dust.”
Alice froze in place, her heartbeat skipping wildly out of rhythm. She stared blankly at the man in front of her, chest heaving, eyes reddened with fury.
“What… what do you even want from me?” Her voice was hoarse, as if she were struggling to hold on to the last thread of reason. “You hate them, I get it—but why are you using me?”
“You think this is revenge? Enzo, you’re just hurting someone innocent!” Her voice began to tremble. “You said you wouldn’t take responsibility. You said that night was just an accident. But now you're threatening me, using me… to humiliate them?”
Tears fell, but she didn’t back down—not even a step.
“This isn’t revenge. This is cruelty.”
She looked up at him, eyes glassy with unshed tears. “You said your mother died because of them. But have you ever thought about me? I’m being controlled by them too. I don’t even get to decide who I marry...”
Her voice lowered, weary and broken.
“I’m not your pawn, Enzo. And I’m not a casualty of your revenge.”
She bit her lip, and for a moment, something fierce flared in her eyes.
“You can tell everyone I slept with you. I won’t beg. I’m not afraid anymore. If you want to destroy me, then go ahead—take me down with you. But at least I’ll still have my dignity.”
With that, she gently pushed his hand away—and this time, he didn’t resist.
The air grew heavy with silence, broken only by her uneven breaths, and the weight of his unreadable stare.
Enzo sank back into the chair, his fingertips slowly massaging his temples. His green eyes remained locked on the closed door, unmoving for a long while.
When she pushed him away just now, he had actually frozen.
There were tears in her eyes, but they were more determined than ever. That look—
He knew it too well.
It was exactly like the one his mother gave him before she died, filled with sorrow and unwavering resolve.
He suddenly realized… he might’ve gone too far.
And once that realization surfaced, it churned inside him like a dark undercurrent.
Yes, the ones who truly owed him, the ones who destroyed his mother and stole everything from him, were Justin, Justin’s father, and the rest of that lofty Bieber family.
But Alice?
She was just a pawn, forced into this engagement. A girl completely in the dark.
And yet just now—
He shut his eyes, fists clenching until his knuckles turned white. There was a weight in his chest—heavy, suffocating, and laced with rage and regret.
“Damn it.”
He had just forced an innocent person to bear the weight of his hatred.
For the first time, Enzo thought he wasn’t just crazy—he was cruel to the point of being pathetic.
But even so, he wasn’t about to abandon his revenge for the sake of a woman.
Alice might be innocent.
But she was also the perfect tool.
A blade he could wield to strike at Justin—and the entire Bieber family.
And that was enough.
