Amanda returned to Charles' house in different clothes, a nice outfit he had bought for her on their way back. She had changed in the boutique, discarding her earlier clothes.
As she walked into the sitting room, she saw Kendall and the maid, completely engrossed in the loud and colorful cartoon. The vibrant sounds filled the room and none of them noticed Amanda's entrance.
"Hey sweetie," Amanda called out, her voice warm and gentle.
Kendall's head snapped in the direction of her mother's voice. Her eyes brightened and a huge smile spread across her face. "Mommy!" She exclaimed, jumping off the couch and running toward her.
Kendall was overjoyed to see her. Although she was enjoying the company of the maid, she still wanted her mother's presence around her.
