Episode 3

It was quite unnerving to say the least to have fallen asleep in my brother’s room only to wake up in a strange room with the Alpha who hated me pinning me down on the bed, his eyes filled with so much anger that he looked like he was considering ripping out my throat himself and finishing what the rogue began. “What are you doing in my room?” He asked. Eyes widened, heart beating in my ears, I replied, “I don’t know. I swear I..” I trailed off because I didn’t know what to say. How did I get in his room? In his bed even! How was that possible and why didn’t I remember it happening? “You don’t know? I wake up to find you leaning over me on my bed and you don’t know? Were you trying to kill me?” He tightened his grip on my neck and I gasped and squirmed beneath him. “No, please I swear. I wasn’t!” “Then what the hell were you doing in my room? Did you come here to try to seduce me?” I blushed a bright red. “N..no Alpha” “Get it through your thick head, Mutt. We will never be mates. You are scum, no, worse than scum. You’re absolutely worthless and I and this Pack will never want or accept you. Now get out” he rolled off me and I quickly scrambled up and made for the door, tears stinging my eyes. I grabbed the handle and pulled it open when suddenly it was shut again. I stared with wide, startled eyes at Alpha Damien’s hand just above mine, pressing the door shut. He sniffed at my neck and I shivered. “Whose freaking clothes are you wearing?” He asked harshly. “I don’t know. I.. I didn’t have anything in the forest to wear so I grabbed the first clothes I saw” I explained. He grabbed the collar, then leaned down and whispered in my ear, “Take them off before I rip them off you” I began trembling. Why? Why did he want me to take off the clothes? Were they his? They were large enough that I knew they were a man’s but I didn’t think it was his scent on them, though since I had just transformed I wasn’t very good with scents just yet. “I don’t have any clothes here” “I don’t care. Take. Them. Off” he ordered in his Alpha tone. I found my hand reaching for a button and no matter how hard I tried to stop it, it continued. I shook with the effort to stop myself but I was still unsuccessful. Button after button came off until I was shrugging the shirt off. His breath hitched and then suddenly he wasn’t pressed to my back anymore. Just as quickly, I felt a soft material on my shoulder. “Put this on. Now” he said, his voice tight with barely restrained emotion. Anger maybe. I dropped the old shirt and put on the shirt he gave me. It was large enough that it fell down almost to my knees so that when I took off the large shorts, I was still decent. I finally turned and looked at him. I stepped back and pressed tighter against the door in shock at the heat in his hooded eyes. “Hand over the clothes” he said. I did so immediately. He made his way to his fireplace and shoved both items into the fire that was burning there. I watched in shock as they burned. He turned to me and watched me from beneath long lashes as if he was contemplating something. I fidgeted nervously with my hands as I waited for him to come to a decision. Finally after what seemed to be hours but was likely just a few minutes, he spoke. “Leave. And if I catch you in my room again you won’t get off this easy” with that command I quickly turned and exited his room. It was just a few doors down from his office so I was able to find my way out of his house and quickly made my way to mine. I walked into the house and found Owen asleep on the couch. Since he was a light sleeper, he woke up when I closed the door behind me. “Celeste? What happened? Where’d you go?” He asked, rubbing sleep out of his eyes. “I think I should be asking the questions here. You let me fall asleep didn’t you?” I accused. He grinned. “Yup” “You’re not even ashamed of yourself. And let me guess, you did the work?” He nodded. I sighed and made my way to the couch and he moved and gave me room to sit. “Did anyone hurt you?” “No, everyone just pretty much ignored me. I got back home and checked on you but you were still sleeping so I came to the living room to use the couch” “You could have just used my room. What time did you get back?” I asked, trying to decipher something. “I got back around 8pm. Why?” “Did you hear me leave the house?” He frowned. “Come to think of it, no. How’d you leave without me finding out?” I thought about telling him the truth for a split second before I trashed the idea. I didn’t want him to worry. Besides, I didn’t even completely understand, how was I going to try to get someone else to? “Maybe you’re just not as light a sleeper as you think you are” I joked. “Yeah, yeah. Where’d you go anyway?” I scrambled for an excuse he would believe. If I said I went to see Melissa or Devon he could just ask them and they would discount my story and/or become suspicious themselves. “I just needed some fresh air” He raised a brow. “This late at night?” “To each their own right? Did you get something to eat?” “Yeah and I brought some for you” he moved to the counter and got me a plate of spaghetti. “Did you actually have any?” I asked. He nodded with a straight face. “Of course” I narrowed my eyes at him in disbelief and he laughed. “Come on, eat. I’m going to bed” he said. I sighed and kissed his cheek. “Goodnight, and thank you Owen” He smiled a reply and walked off to his bedroom. I picked up the plate and groaned as the world around me became dark again. When I opened my eyes, I was in the main Pack kitchens. I saw everyone trying to quickly prepare a meal. And then with a shock, I spotted myself coming in to the kitchen. I watched as I was put to work chopping some vegetables. I was doing it when all of a sudden my head was yanked backwards but a tight grip in my hair. Tears filled my eyes as I grabbed at the person’s hand to get some relief. I watched as the person, ensconced in the darkness yelled at me and shook me violently. I wanted to go stop the person, to go save myself but I was an invisible bystander in the conversation. I was more of a presence of mind than an actual person. I watched as I was shoved into the counter and heard the sickening c***k of bones. Then I was dragged outside. I followed through no will of mine but as soon as I was outside of the kitchen, I was disconnected from the scene and resurfaced from the imagination fit, as my parents used to call it. I took a couple deep breaths until my heart stopped racing and placed the dish back on the table. I got some water from the sink and drank, then washed my face. When I went back to the living room and took my seat, from the corner of my eye I caught sight of a figure in the shadows, looking through my window.
