Not long after, I signed the papers and the first payment hit my account. I threw myself into getting the foundation off the ground.
Isaac had just signed two new artists and was swamped, so I had to handle most things myself.
I was running nonstop from morning till night every single day.
One day, Isaac called me. "People are talking a lot lately, saying you didn't die, that you've just been recovering overseas. Want me to bury the rumors?"
I shrugged it off. "No, leave them. Think of it as a heads-up for everyone. The truth's gonna come out sooner or later anyway."
Isaac agreed. "Fair enough. It's not bad press, anyway. We can let it ride."
Right after I hung up with Isaac, my phone rang again.
I saw the name on the screen and couldn't stop a smile from tugging at my lips.
