Two weeks later
For two weeks, Clay had expected each day that Aron would show up. He didn’t. Still, business could not stop while he waited for perhaps nonexistent Elven reinforcements to arrive. After a few days, he began to wonder if the whole encounter with his alleged distant relative had been some kind of strange dream.
When Rhys and Liam reported unusual activity in the Big Bend area, he gathered his full crew. They all convened in the area to set up a base camp just outside the national park. Unless it became urgent, he didn’t want to disrupt operation of the tourist attraction. Until they knew what they were dealing with, he refused to go overboard with precautions. Usually his inborn sixth sense guided him in such decisions.
