Episode 7

I hurried home and quickly got changed

I put on formal clothes and took a taxi to the train station where I bought a ticket gong to NY

'I hope I get there on time' I thought

When I reached in NY I took a taxi outside the train station which took me to the Forbes Enterprises

'Here goes nothing' I took a  deep breath and walked inside the tall luxurious building

'This place is gigantic! and post looking' I thought my eyes moving around in awe

I walked towards the reception who noticed me and gave me a smile

'Hi there, how may I help' she said

'I am here to drop my application form' I said

'Okay, what job role?' she asked

'For the radio assistant position' I said

'Sorry ma'am, we aren't accepting applications at the moment' she said

'What' I asked my eyes widening

'But the ad clearly states that the deadline is tomorrow' I said with plead

'Must have been a typo' she said

'Oh come on please! It took me an hour to get her' I said with puppy eyes

'Could you at least fit me in. I'll do anything' I said

'I am sorry no can do, ma'am' she said

'Right,  thanks for your help' I shrugged (not)

I shrugged and walked near the entrance

I can't believe I came all the way here for a rejection. Maybe this wasn't meant to be, I knew this was too good to be true

I was stood there my back facing the entrance when I felt something hard push me and I ended falling on the floor with it

'Ow!' I moaned in pain after hitting the cold floor

'Oh God' I heard a deep voice making me to look where it came from

'Am sorry, are you ok?'

I looked up and saw a tall, handsome man with an embarrassed look on his face. He seemed apologetic and I couldn't find the words to speak properly

'Uh...Its ok' I said 

'Don't apologize, my fault for not looking where I was going' he said

He reached out his hand to me and I grabbed onto them while he helped me up on my feet

'T..Thanks' I said a bit embarrassed 

'Are you ok?' he asked concerned

'Yes I am fine, can you walk away now' I said my mood changing after remembering jhow  came all the way out here for nothing

'Calm down, I was just asking if you are ok' he said

'Obviously not' I asked face palming myself

'Maybe I can help?' he said with a kind smile on him

'Nobody can' I said

'Try me' he said

'Who are you and why would you help me?' I asked

'A friendly person that bumped into you and I owe you' he said

'Fine' I said

Taking a deep breath, I opened my mouth and started talking in an angry tone' Well, I travelled all the way from Blackstone Valley to hand n my application for a job and I missed the deadline. Its a job I've always wanted' 

'What job is it' he asked

'A radio assistant at Forbes Station Working here would have been a dream come true, since i'm passionate about radio' I said my eyes full of sadness

'I know I sound dumb' I said a little bit embarrassed

'Not at all' he said

'Well, everything happens for a reason' he said

'Whatever but I came here for a no. My life sucks' I said facepalming myself again

'Don't say that, am sure it isn't as bad as you think' he said

'Oh believe me it is. Nothing good ever comes my way' I said

'Are you free tomorrow?' he sad making me glare at him with anger

'Excuse me' I say crossing my arms

'Are you free tomorrow' he asks again

'Oh, I see how it is! Is that how you lure girls in your pants? You bump into them, ask them if they are okay so that you can take them on a date. I know how men operate. I wasn't born yesterday buddy' I gritted out angrily

'Woah there, I have no plans to do that, I just wanted to squeeze you in for an interview if that's okay with you' he said making me to shocked

'I am sorry for misleading you, but allow me to introduce myself, My name is Alexander Forbes AKA the owner of Forbes station' he said

'And other companies too but that's not important now. Are you able to come for an interview tomorrow?' he asked

'You are the owner? why didn't you say so?' I asked still surprised 

'So is that a yes?' he asked furrowing his brows

'Yes' I squealed ' I mean yes sir, I would like to apologize for my crazy outburst Mr Forbes' I said 

'Its fine, please call me Alex' he said

'Do you have a resume?' he asked

'I do, here' I said giving it him

'Nice name Mrs Elanor, I do apologise for bumping into you' he said

Luckily good came out of this

'You're forgiven Alex' I said

'Awsome'

(He is actually kind of cute) I thought

'I have some free time on my hands, would you like to join me for coffee? its on me' he said

'Unfortunately, I can't sorry. I have to get back to do something important' I said

'Okay, see you at 12pm' he said and walked of

I screamed inside my head and called Diamond asking her if her offer was still available

LATER THAT DAY 

Every night I made sure to work ten times harder on the dance floor since this was my last night at Elite Diamonds. I have to make most of it

Moving from Blackstone Valley to NY is a huge stepping stone. I am so ready for a fresh start. And am sure I've got the job at Forbes station  in the bag

The manager seemed to like me however, nothing is concrete yet

'Damn baby girl, I liiked the way you moved'

'Can I take your phone number?' some random stranger asked me

'Hehehe, so funny and no I don't give my number out. It is against our policy' I muttered in a friendly way

'I understand' he said smirking 'I will see that sexy booty later' he winked and left

'Bye, bye' I smiled

Ugh! I actually can't wait to get out of here and do something better with my life

A few minutes later, Diamond walked towards me with a smile on her face' hey gurl, just wanted to confirm you are down for tonight?' she said

'You bet' I smiled

'I will pick you up tonight' she said and walked off

I walked to the locker room only to find Miss Barbie doll there

'You are lucky you still have a job' she spat

'I am sorry for hitting you' I said

'The word sorry can't do crap for me. You know that I can send you to prison for abuse and stuff' shouted

'And I can sue you for emotional distress and physical damage'

'What do you expect me to do' I muttered eyerolling at her

'I don't know yet but will think of something and when I do, you better be ready because I aren't the one to let things go. Sleep with one eye open' she said and left the room

After getting home, I packet my clothes, shoes and things I couldn't leave 

As ratchet as this place is. am sure going to miss it

'Okay Diamond should be here any minute from now'

A few minutes later Dia was here and I put my luggage in the boot and got in the car. She started driving straight away and I looked outside the window because it was the time I would see this neighbourhood again

'What took you so long?' I asked her

'Oh you don't wanna know' she said

LINCON SQUARE NYC

About an hour later of being in the car we got to NY and I looked outside admiring the tall buildings. Diamond parked her car in a carpark near a building called Lincon Square NYC and we got of with our luggage 

The entrance of the building looked so clean and luxurious and I admired it in awe. We walked to reception at the corner and we were given keys to the apartment.Turns out it was 3rd floor so we had to take an elevator

Dia opened the door both of us stepping in with out suitcases. 'Wow this place is amazing!' I said with my eyes gleaming

'I sure do have a good taste don't I?' she said

'Yes you do' this place must have cost a fortune. OMG  can't wait to check out my room'

'Go ahead' she said and I hurried off with my suitcase

'I actually love this place!' My room had white walls hat had patterns and a double bed covered with purple bedcover and four pillows at the head of the bed. It also had a white lamp desk at the side with a walk in closet that didn't have clothes yet

On the other side of the room there was a bathroom with a shower and a big mirror and a makeup table on the side. I had never had a room so big my whole life. The size of this room was almost bigger than my whole apartment

Hours passed by and I unpacked my clothes putting them in the closet and I had a shower wore my pjs and went to Dia to tell her I was going to bed

We told each other goodnight and I went to bed putting the covers on top of me and I loved how soft it was compared to my old one
