I struck without thinking. My hands balling into fists and before the man could utter a word, I punched him straight on the nose. The sound of cartilage breaking felt like music to my ears but I couldn’t bask in my accomplishment because as soon as the man dropped like a sack of potatoes his friends were on me. One managed to grab my arm and tried to pull it behind my back but I tried to resist by attempting to kick him in the balls but missed. I felt arms slithering around my waist and I screamed as I tried to shove the man off me. I wouldn’t let them take me away. I didn’t even want to imagine what they’d do to me if they did manage to have me. “Stop fighting us, little girl. We’re not going to hurt you.
