Chapter 8

They started walking to look for a body of water that they could possibly use for their training. So this was their actual training, Sera thought. Sera had known that every king can manifest the four base elements but she never thought that they learned it during the competition. “Do you think the creature will jump scare us?” Alistair curiously asked Birch. Birch just looked at him and never utter a word. Calyx noticed that so he answered on Birch’s behalf. “If that happens, we would definitely have a low chance of winning. It says there that it is only susceptible to its own element and as of now, we have not master the four base element. We can’t turn down a creature intended for a team with just the master,” Calyx paused. “And me,” he continued while smiling. “Yeah,” Alistair agreed and his face frowned. Sera looked at Calyx. Since she was considered a commoner before she became an elite. She had never been to the other regnums. Only the council, and the sons and daughters of the peerage were only allowed to visit other kingdoms. Out of the five kingdoms, she was intrigued on how Meta kingdom works. As far as she knows from the books she read, some of them were not capable of controlling even one of the elements. However, those who were fortunate to control at least two base element can produce a new element. Knowing that Calyx could control four, he must be really something. He just can’t control four but possibly, a lot more elements.  “I guess this must be it,” Leed said. Sera never noticed the increase of volume of the waters splashing around her surrounding due to her occupied thinking. Calyx walked toward her. He lightly tapped Sera’s nose with his finger. “Don’t stare at me too much. I might melt,” he joked. Sera gave him a blank face. She was so occupied that she even didn’t realized that she was already staring at him. “I did?” She looked at Birch and asked to confirm. Birch was always quite but for the past few days, they already had a decent conversation.   Birch looked at her for a moment and looked away. Calyx laughed, “It looks like your charm doesn’t work on him.” Sera gave him another blank face. That was not funny, she thought. They all assessed the area. There was indeed a water falls however, the falls was not really that high. In e would be a lot of water they can use to train. Leed placed his bag on the ground, removed his combat shoes, and faced them all. “This is a great place to train all of you.” He started walking to the stream, bare foot. He continued walking until his body was already submerged into the water.  “You need to be one with the water before you’d be able to control it.  I am sure you already know that. The best way for that is to submerge yourself where you would be surrounded.” He raised both of his hands out of the water and at the same time, big pillars of water from the stream formed behind his back.    “Now, come here and be one with the water,” Leed continued. Alistair immediately placed his bag on the ground. He removed his shoes and followed Leed into the water. While submerging, Alistair could feel the cold sensation that lingers on his body. “It is cold,” he commented. “You will get used to it,” said Leed. Birch, Calyx, and Sera decided to join the two. After placing their things to a secure place, they all started engulfing themselves to the water, one by one. The three also felt the coldness of the water. “Don’t mind the cold. Just close your eyes and don’t open it until I say so.” Leed commanded. As an Aqua master, he had already taught a lot of aqua children to control their water. Most of them already knew how to control it so he’s main job was to taught them how to manifest the water even if they were unable to spot a water source, morph it into different shapes, control big quantities of water, and many more.    This time it was different. This was his first time teaching grown-ups and most especially, from different regnums. Learning other elements other than your own was not entirely difficult especially if you had already mastered one before.  The only problem was they need to connect with the element but they have limited time. It’s difficult to connect with an element if you knew you were being rushed and your life could be in danger. All four of them followed what Leed said. They started closing their eyes. Calyx could already control the water but he knew he needed the training, too.   “You need to be calm.” Leed suggested. He motioned his hands upward to create a water barrier around his four team mates to protect them from the possible danger. “You should empty your mind. Remove all the worries.” “Forget about the competition. Forget about the mission.”   “Just focus on the water around you.” “Let it hug you.” “Breathe.” They all followed what Leed were saying. They slowly breathe. Breathe in, breathe out. They didn’t mind the cold. Just like what Leed said to don’t mind the cold. They were like they have become numb.  All of them were still. Closing their eyes, calming down their conscious and subconscious mind. Being around with water, meditating could make you feel an element was hugging you. It was like accepting something you didn’t know you own. They all took another deep breath. “Just breath and imaging everything was just nothing, imagining that it was only you and the element. “ Sera started feeling a sensation. It was like a sensation that has woken up. It was the same sensation that she felt when she was in battle with Birch. From the past few days, she can already morph the water she had controlled. Does her connection with water had really woken up earlier than expected?
