A new day
Chris's POV
I lay on my bed, my mind still reeling from the events of the previous day. I had been trying to reach Kate all night, but her phone had been unreachable. I had been calling her phone. I was worried about her. I hope she is fine. I tried to call her phone for what felt like the hundredth time and finally, she picked up and I let out the breath that I didn't realize I was holding.
“Hey, love? Why haven't you been taking my calls? I've been calling you since yesterday,” I let out, hoping to hear her voice, but to my surprise, it wasn't Kate's voice on the other end. It was her mother's. Her voice was like a cold breeze on a winter's night, sending shivers down my spine.
I can't believe that I was cowering at the sound of her voice. I have never been scared of anyon
