Olivia's eyes fluttered open, and she was met with the unfamiliar sight of the Blood Moon pack's den. She was lying on a soft, plush bed, surrounded by the warm glow of candles.
As she sat up, Olivia felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. She stumbled, her vision blurring. And then, she remembered.
She was in the Blood Moon pack's den, under Christopher's protection but she didn't know it yet. But as she looked around, Olivia realized that not everyone was happy about her presence.
A group of pack members stood in the corner, their eyes fixed on her with disdain. One of them, a tall, muscular man with a scar above his eyebrow, stepped forward.
"You don't belong here," he sneered. "You're an omega. You're weak." Olivia felt a surge of fear, but before she could react, Christopher appeared out of nowhere.
"Leave her alone, Ryder," he growled. Ryder snarled, but he backed down. Olivia breathed a sigh of relief, but as she turned to thank Christopher, she felt a wave of pain wash over her.
She stumbled, her vision blurring. And then, she saw Ryder's face, his eyes gleaming with malice.
"You'll never be one of us," he spat, before shoving a small vial into her hand. Olivia's eyes widened as she realized what had happened.
She had been poisoned with wolfsbane. As the poison coursed through her veins, Olivia felt her strength fading.
She stumbled, her vision blurring. And then, she saw Christopher's face, his eyes filled with concern.
"Olivia, no!" he shouted, before catching her as she fell. As Olivia slipped into unconsciousness, she muttered a single word.
"Christopher's eyes widened, his face pale with shock. He looked at Ryder, his eyes blazing with anger.
"You're going to pay for this, Ryder," he snarled. Ryder took a step back, his eyes wide with fear.
"I didn't mean to hurt her, Christopher," he stammered. Christopher's face twisted in disgust.
"You're a coward, Ryder," he spat. "And you're going to face the consequences of your actions." As Christopher turned to leave, Olivia's eyes fluttered open.
She saw Christopher's face, his eyes filled with concern. "Christopher," she whispered.
"I'm here, Olivia," he replied, his voice soft. "You're safe now." Olivia's eyes closed, and she felt herself falling into a deep sleep.
But as she fell asleep, Olivia couldn't shake the feeling that she was in grave danger. The poisoning had been no accident, and she knew that Ryder was not acting alone.
There were those in the Blood Moon pack who did not want her there, who would stop at nothing to get rid of her.
And Olivia knew that she had to be careful. She had to trust no one, not even Christopher. As she fell asleep, Olivia's mind was racing with questions.
Who had poisoned her? And why? And what did Christopher really want from her? Only time would tell.
As Olivia slept, Christopher sat beside her, his eyes fixed on her face. He was filled with worry and concern.
He knew that Olivia was in danger, that there were those in the pack who did not want her there. And he knew that he had to protect her.
But as he looked at Ryder, Christopher felt a surge of anger. He knew that Ryder had poisoned Olivia, that he had tried to hurt her.
And Christopher knew that he had to make Ryder pay. He stood up, his eyes blazing with anger.
"Ryder, you're coming with me," he growled. Ryder took a step back, his eyes wide with fear.
"What are you going to do, Christopher?" he stammered. Christopher's face twisted in disgust.
"You're going to face the pack's justice," he spat. "You're going to pay for what you've done."
As Christopher dragged Ryder away, Olivia slept fitfully, her mind filled with dark dreams and foreboding.
She knew that she was in grave danger, that there were those who would stop at nothing to get rid of her.
And she knew that she had to be careful, that she had to trust no one. But as she slept, Olivia felt a sense of comfort.
She knew that Christopher was there, that he would protect her. And she knew that she could trust him.
But as she fell deeper into sleep, Olivia's mind was filled with questions. What did Christopher really want from her? And what was he hiding?
Only time would tell. As the night wore on, Olivia's sleep grew restless. She tossed and turned, her mind filled with dark dreams and foreboding.
