Olivia's heart racing, she turned to face her pursuer. The rain poured down around her, making it difficult to see more than a few feet in front of her. But as the figure drew closer, Olivia's instincts screamed at her to run. She took off, her paws pounding against the wet earth. The forest was dense, the trees closing in around her like sentinels. Olivia dodged and weaved, her senses on high alert. She could hear her pursuer behind her, his breathing heavy and labored. Just when she thought she'd lost him, Olivia heard a rustling in the underbrush. She spun around, her hackles raised. A figure emerged from the darkness, his eyes glowing like embers in the night. Olivia's heart skipped a beat. She recognized those eyes. They belonged to Nathaniel, her mate. The mate who had rejected her, humiliated her in front of the pack. Olivia's instincts screamed at her to run, but her legs seemed rooted to the spot. Nathaniel took a step closer, his eyes never leaving hers. "You think you can just run away from me, Olivia?" he sneered. "You think you can just leave me?" Olivia found her voice. "I'll never go back to you, Nathaniel," she spat. "I'll never be your mate again." Nathaniel's face twisted in rage. "You'll do as I say, Olivia," he snarled. "You'll do as I say, or suffer the consequences." Olivia stood her ground, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew she couldn't take Nathaniel in a fight, but she refused to back down. She refused to be intimidated. "Why are you doing this, Nathaniel?" Olivia asked, her voice shaking with anger. "You rejected me, humiliated me in front of the pack." "And now you're chasing me through the forest, trying to hurt me. What's wrong with you?" Nathaniel's face twisted in a cruel smile. "You were mine, Olivia," he said, his voice dripping with possessiveness. "You were my mate, and you betrayed me." "I'll never be yours again, Nathaniel, and I never betrayed you,you did!" Olivia spat. "I'll never be your mate." Nathaniel's face twisted in rage. "You'll do as I say, Olivia," he snarled. "You'll do as I say, or suffer the consequences." Just as Nathaniel was about to pounce, a loud growl echoed through the forest. The sound sent shivers down Olivia's spine. It was a sound she'd never heard before, a sound that seemed to come from the very depths of the earth. Nathaniel's head jerked up, his eyes scanning the darkness. "Who's there?" he snarled. A figure emerged from the shadows, its eyes glowing like lanterns in the night. Olivia's heart skipped a beat. She didn't know what this creature was, but she knew it was powerful. "Leave her alone, Nathaniel," the creature growled. "She's under my protection now." Nathaniel's face twisted in rage. "You think you can take her from me?" he sneered. "You think you can protect her?" The creature took a step closer, its eyes never leaving Nathaniel's. "I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe," it growled. Olivia's heart was racing. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew she was in the middle of something big. Something that could change her life forever. And then, just as suddenly as it had started, everything went black. Olivia's world went dark, and she felt herself falling. Falling into a void of uncertainty, a void of fear. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew she was in grave danger. And then, everything went silent. Olivia's body hit the ground with a thud, her senses reeling from the impact. As she lay there, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Heavy, deliberate footsteps. Olivia's heart was racing. She didn't know who was coming, but she knew she had to be ready. She struggled to sit up, her eyes scanning the darkness. And then, she saw him. The creature that had saved her. It was standing over her, its eyes glowing like lanterns in the night. Olivia's heart skipped a beat. She didn't know what this creature was, but she knew it had saved her life. As she looked into the creature's eyes, Olivia felt a strange sensation wash over her. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The creature's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. "I am someone who will keep you safe,I am Christopher, the Beta of Blood Moon Pack" it growled. Olivia's heart was racing. The name sounded familiar, she knew the name but for some reason she just couldn't remember where she had heard it from. She groaned as she felt herself slipping into the darkness. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew she was in the middle of something big. Something that could change her life forever.
