Meeting
She felt nervous.
Things spiraling out of her control always left her on edge, especially when it involved Candy. Why hadn't she seen it coming, that Candy and Albert were together? But more alarming, why hadn't Candy confided in her? How long had they been together? Did Albert know about the pregnancy, and was she unsure whose child it was? Did her promotion have anything to do with Candy and Albert being a couple? Too many doubts and too few answers. It was intolerable.
She went to Albert's office to discuss Candy's surprise. She was nearby, providing the perfect excuse for a private chat. She didn't particularly like Albert; she found him too serious, too wealthy, too handsome, too proper, too educated. Too many good qualities in one package, which didn't sit well with her. M
