Prologue

233 Words
Before kingdoms rose, there was only blood. The First Flame. The First Tide. The First Root. The First Wind. From their legacy, the Four Great Bloodlines were born. For centuries, people believed that power belonged to those who could command the elements. They were wrong. Fire could reduce entire cities to ash. Water could drown armies beneath its waves. Earth could raise walls that pierced the heavens. Air could carry mighty fleets beyond the farthest oceans. Yet none of these things could create a ruler. What created a ruler was blood. For a throne could be stolen. A crown could be taken by force. A palace could be conquered. But blood could never be changed. And so, the Four Great Kingdoms rose. Vareth, Kingdom of Fire. Nerevia, Kingdom of Water. Valdern, Kingdom of Earth. Aestria, Kingdom of Air. Together, they forged the balance of the world. Together, they shaped the continents. Together, they convinced mankind that this order would last forever. But no order lasts forever. Every prophecy speaks of war. Every dynasty fears betrayal. Every ruler believes their bloodline was chosen by fate. Yet fate is far crueler than mortals dare imagine. For the ones who bring kingdoms to ruin are rarely their enemies. They are the ones trusted most. And before this story reaches its end... The world will learn once again that blood can be a blessing. Or a curse.
