Chapter 4
Her death, A chance at rebirth
Thaila stood under the cold shower beating down on her, the blood in her ears was pounding so crazily while her heart also followed in the fast rhythm. The water made it impossible for her tears to show as it trimmed down her cheek.
She hugged herself tightly under the torrent of water, which made all the bruises on her body come alive. She was so engrossed in her sadness that she didn't notice another figure had joined her until he cupped her big boobs from behind.
Fear gripped her heart as she twirled around to see who it was, but failed to because the figure held her in place. Squeezing her boobs gently until a traitorous moan escaped her throat.
The hot sensation of his hardness shook her from behind, while he placed a feather kisses from her ear to the crook of
her neck and shoulders.
Feeling betrayed by her own cravings, she hissed loudly as she tried disentangling herself from his hold. Kael spanked her ass to hold her in place before making her touch her toes while he slid in from behind at once. Moving at a quick pace like a s*x deprived beast.
Thaila stood still refusing to let any reaction come from her, knowing that was the only way to stop him and made him feel less of himself.
Kael wasn't having any of her cold attitude tonight, he held her hair tightly as he continued to spank her which evoked the reaction he wanted.
-----
The next morning Thaila woke up to the presence of another being in her room, she opened her eyes slowly adjusting to the sunlight that had poured into the room through the window.
Her body felt as though it wasn't her own, she could feel every ounce of pain from her scalp to her core.
The lady before her sat down on the couch with a newspaper in hand and a hot coffee on the small table. She would
be a fool to think that she was concentrating on the papers she was reading.
Her almond eyes were on her, if looks could kill she would be five feet under already. Realization sets in like dawn and Thaila gathered her strength to sit up immediately, ignoring the pain that shot through her body.
"What are you doing in my room? And what are you still doing at the estate, shouldn't you be gone by now?" Thaila asked in a steady voice, hiding the turmoil that was about to erupt from within.
"Did I wake you up from your sleep Luna? My sincere apologies, I was just too curious to find out while Kael didn't come back to the room last night but looking around here, it doesn't seem like he was here either" Kara replied, her voice soft and tiny like the morning bird, without hiding the contempt in her.
She appeared to be everything Thaila wasn't, elegant, bold, stylish and beautiful. Thaila felt intimidated by her presence but did well to hide it.
Thaila turned to the side of the bed and saw the glass of alcohol from last night, how she left the bathroom yesterday she couldn't say.
"Since the man you are looking for isn't here, won't you do yourself the honor of leaving my room before I have one of the guards throw you out, you shameless w***e" Thaila spat, hiding her fist under the duvet.
"Oh dear, do you feel threatened by my presence? I meant no harm but don't worry you wouldn't have to worry about any of that anymore, you will have the peace and freedom you so much wanted" Kara said and stood up, bowing a little before she used the door.
Thaila was confused about what she said but discarded it. This wasn't the first time she would be threatened by one of his fling. She walked into the bathroom to freshen up before going downstairs for her morning coffee.
She decided to wear a skimpy gown to reveal the hickeys on her neck just to make Kara green with jealousy.
The maids mouth was partly opened as she walked past them in elegance and grace, wondering if she was possessed.
Everything went well that day, even Kael treated her differently for the first time since his father's death. He paid
attention to her and also wanted her to follow him to the office that morning.
Thaila was happy because this was his first time taking her to the office aside from the times she has visited while on errand.
The look on Kara's face was priceless and it boosted her self esteem, knowing that for once in her life Keal was keen on making her happy and choosing her over other women.
Kara couldn't hide her disdain but she couldn't act otherwise.
Later that night on their way back home, Kael dismissed his driver and told him that he would drive home by himself. Thaila was surprised at first, she thought he had begun to see her in a new light.
Inside the black sedan, Kael entered the driver's seat and poured Thaila a drink before he started driving deeper into the forest instead of the normal route home.
Thaila started feeling strange, it was as if her intestines were being cut off, her heart started beating wildly with force, she held the glass cup tightly. With the other hand she beckons to Kael for help but the smirk on his face confirms her fears.
He has poisoned the drink, how deep was his hate for her that could make him think of ending her life.
All the good memories Thaila once had flashed through her mind in a minute, as she loses strength with blood gushing out of her mouth. Her grasp on the wine glass weakened and it fell, the remaining content of the wine spilled on her body and her skin started getting darker.
"Why did you do this to us, why?" Thaila screamed and vomited blood from the impact of the screaming.
"I told you Thaila, you are not worthy of being my mate, blame my father for your misfortune, he forced me to marry and now that he's gone why wait any further" Kael laughed wickedly, as he parked by the side of the running river, at this rate he knew she couldn't survive it because the poison would have finished it work by the time he threw her into the river.
He undo her seat belt, and dragged her out of the car, towards the river, Thaila fought for escape with all the strength within her but couldn't overcome him.
Was he being kind to her this morning just to end her life now? Was she really stupid and blind not to understand the handwriting on the wall? Was she really starved to believe that the man who has always hated her had changed overnight while he still has another woman staying under their roof?
It would have been better for her to reject him from the very beginning than to meet such a cruel end. Bearing and living with the curse of rejection would have been better than this!
Thaila was wronged and bitter.
Kael dropped her on the ground with the urge to strangle her to death with his bare hands before he threw her off the
clip.
Fear gnawed at Thaila as she stared at the murderous look in the eyes of the man she has always held dearly..To the man who took her innocence and made her a woman, to the man whose scent calmed her nerves and promised protection. Even at the point of death, she wished to see something break in him, for him to feel remorseful towards her, just for once.
Maybe, she would feel compensated for her death.
She begged for her life, begged him to let her go and start her life in another city entirely and reject him as his mate.
Kael’s hysterical laugh shatters such hope as he pulls her up by the hair and turns her face to watch the running water with its depth. She swallowed bitterly tasting her own blood she kept gushing out of her mouth. She closed her eyes when the loss of his hold dawned on her.
He grabbed the glass of wine and the bottle and tossed it down the clip. Destroying the evidence.
He quickly went back into the car and zoomed off before anyone would come across him, smiling in victory.
Before breath seized in her throat, Thaila offered a prayer to the moon goddess, her heart screaming and begging for revenge as she sank deeper into the water
