Ch 13 Winter

She was watching her father and Caspian talk. The question her father asked Caspian surprised her. Caspian, answer the question, please.

"Yes, Caspian, answer please," Dad said sarcastically.

Dad, for the love of the goddess, just shut up. Caspian?

"Yes, I've been trying to get your father to come here and train. I didn't know he was your father when we first met in Alpha Kane office. Alpha Kane explained to me who your father was after you left. When I came to talk with you in your room. I knew then, but that's not the why I wanted to make our bond work?" He said

Was it to get her father to come here or to stop him from destroying your pack?

"If I'm honest at first, yes, but not now." He said.

Okay, thank you for being honest. She's really tired she is going to go back. Everyone stood. She meant ALONE. Winter walked out of the pub. She ran into Eden.

"Sorry I'm late. Mum and dad just wouldn't stop talking."

She stopped in front of her. "Win, what's happened?" Nothing, she just needs to think. "No, you're not getting rid of me that easily. Come on with me,"

She walked with Eden to the pack house and towards her suite. Eden, she can't his suite is right there. Pointing to the door, which said Alpha.

"So Caspian has done something?. Well, he won't come here,"

We sat on the sofa she told the tale to Eden. She was shocked, angry, and disappointed all at once. "I hope it's not how it looks," Eden said.

It's just disappointing that we were finally getting somewhere after the rocky start.

"Come well, have a girls' night." What about Trey? "He will be fine. I'll link him." Winter watched her eyes glaze over. Then Eden smiled. Then, he opened her eyes.

"Trey said ice cream in the freezer and alcohol in the fridge and popcorn in the pantry."

That's nice of him. Eden hugged her. She felt the tears fall. It was more anger and frustration than anything else. They watch movies, drink and eat food. She felt herself start to fall asleep. She was about to drift off when Winter heard voices.

"Is she okay?" Trey asked.

"I think so, just mentally drained. She's very confused. Trey, I know he's your best friend and Alpha, but what the hell." Eden said.

"It's not how it seems, Eden. When he scented her, he didn't know who she was, and seeing her neck triggered him. I won't go into details, but his first mate cheated on him. I think it left scares in Caspian. I think he thought we're gone. Then Alpha Kane explained who she was. I think Caspian thought she was going to reject him, so he thought least clear the air before war started with a pack he'd just made amends with and her father came to destroy," Trey said.

"Does he actually want her?" Eden asked.

"Yes, he does. He just struggles to show it. " Trey said.

"Well, he needs to figure out quickly. She told me Caspian saw what she was. Did Caspian tell you?"

"Yes, he did. I won't speak of it," He said.

"Good, just know if it comes to Winter leaving this pack, I will go with her. I made a promise to her mother to always protect and be by her side. I think that's why the goddess mated me to you. Where Winter goes, I go." Eden said.

"Then that's where I go too," Trey said.

She heard them kiss. "I'll carry her to the spare room. It's all set up for a guest. Go shut the blinds and pull the bed covers back."

She pretended to still be asleep, but she thought Trey could tell she wasn't. He put her in bed and mindlinked. "Sleep, luna, you're safe here. Caspian won't come here," Trey said.

She did actually drift off to sleep. To wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs. She got up. She saw clean clothes on a chair with a note,

"Shower, get dress breakfast waiting for you," Eden.

She smiled. She did just that showered dressed. She headed out of the kitchen to find Trey cooking and no Eden. No, Eden?.

"It's her first training session. she thought she'd be back before you woke,"

Erm body clock she supposed. She is always up early. "That's what I said. Hungry?" he asked. She nodded. He served her a plate.

"I know you heard our conversations last night,"

She did. "And?" And what? "Please, Winter, hear him out. I don't think he's been to sleep pacing around. Him and his wolf want you. He can't sleep that you're upset with him. He didn't the last time."

What do you mean. "Those four days, you didn't speak with him. Office by day. In wolf form by night watching your house. " What, why? "He wanted to keep you safe. He cares he's just not good at showing it."

She knows it's just disheartening, she guesses. He nodded. Eden walked into you. "Oh no, you're awake. I didn't want you waking up alone. " Eden hugged her.

Oh, sweaty, go shower. Eden laughed. And she wasn't alone. Trey was here. One out of two beta's is good enough for her. Eden smiled and turned to Trey, pointing a finger at him.

"You watch it. I'm her beta," She said.

Winter laughed. Trey put both his hands up. "Yes, beta," he said. We all laughed.

She heard a knock at their door. It was Caspian. "Morning Winter, Eden, Trey," he said, Morning Caspian.

"Trey, we have a meeting,"

A meeting?

"Yes at Golden Oak spa with grandfather. We will only be a few hours. If you need me, call me. " Caspian took her phone from the table and called his own. Thank you.

"You'll be safe here while I'm gone,"

She nodded. "See you later," Caspian walked out. Trey turned to Eden. "We won't be long. Winter, stay here as long as you like, okay? " Trey said, kissing Eden

Thank you. "So what do you want to do today?" Eden said. She thinks she needs to go see her dad.She needs to clear some things up. Eden nodded.

"I'll meet you later,"

Winter nodded and left. As she was walking out of the pack house. Caspian and Trey were getting into their car. She'd thought they'd left by now. Then she saw her father come from the alpha office.

Oh, that's why he's still here. Father wanted to speak with Caspian. "Winter, can we speak please," Father asked her. Okay. We can walk and talk back to Auntie Connie's. She turned back around. "Thank you for breakfast, beta Trey. You are a good cook."

Trey smiled. Caspian frowned. "Anytime, Luna." Oh, she might hold you too that. She started to walk away he father fell into step with her.

"Winter, I'm sorry about last night. I went too far. I don't trust his intentions, and you're my only child."

Dad she understands that, but you haven't been here this past week. He's been honest with her. He been open he's kept her safe. He saw what she was, Dad. Her dad eyes went wide. "When?"

The day he she came here. Caspian left early because they were a fire in the pack. He came home. She followed him with Ziggy the gamma. Harry and Caspian left first. Trey, Eden, and the warriors came the following day

"Why did you show yourself?"

She didn't. Skye did. Caspian and Harry were attacked by rouges a lot. She and Ziggy weren't behind. She joined in with Aspen, and they Caspian was hurt. Skye shifted to protect him and used her aura to get answers from the rouge.

"What did Caspian say?"

Thank you, and that their would protect her secrets and keep her safe. Warriors came to escort us as well.

"Winter, you know better than to do that,"

Skye wanted to protect him. She's not going to judge her for it. "No, Judgement, just worry,"

Well, don't. Mum never wanted her to hide any part of herself. She understands it more un safe for her out of the bear kingdom, but she needs to let Skye feel safe and free.

"I understand, I worry. I knew you were safe with Alpha Kane. Not so much here," Are you willing to give to give this pack and Caspian a chance?

"For you, yes, I will try, but he hurts you. I will kill him," Dad said

Thank you. All I ask is for you to try until he gives you a reason not to. If she messages him and asks him to have dinner, just the 3 of us. Can you behave yourself, Dad? He rolled his eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure I can manage,"

She walked into the house. She sat at her desk. Left her dad chatting to Aunt Connie. Right what to say. She pulled out her phone.

"Hi Caspian, sorry to interrupt your meeting. I wanted to know if you were free for a meal with myself and my father tonight, " she texted

Sat and waited, pull out her laptop to look at what she needed for her course. Her phone pinged.

"Hello, Winter. Yes, I would love to. Where time,? "

Erm, she mindlinked her aunt. Can I use the kitchen and dining room tonight. A meal with dad and Caspian. "Yes, of course, come down. We'll check what we can cook. " Thanks. Give her a second.

She texted back. "Would you be willing to come to my aunts, and I will cook for us all. "

"Yes, that's fine. I didn't know you could cook?😉" he said with a wink emoji.

"Cheeky man. I can cook a few things. Are you happy with steak, chips, and salad?"

"Yes, I'll bring a dessert. Any preferences?" he asked.

"Surprise me," she said

"Okay, I will,"

She headed downstairs. Yes, he's good with that. "What did you suggest?" Steak , chips and salad. "Well, I have chips but no fresh salad or meat. Right, let's go to the market,"

Winter and her aunt headed into town. "So now we are on our own. Spill, how do you feel about things"

Caspian, you mean. Connie nodded. It was starting to be good until last night. "Hmmm, your father has a nack for interrogating people. "

Don't we know it. We walked onto the butchers, called Gina's meats. Straight in front of her was Kirsty. Oh s**t she thought.

"What the f**k do you want?" she said

But before she could answer. Another woman pulled her away. "Kirsty, do not speak to customers like that. Go in the back for a moment, please. My apologies, Luna, my daughter is out of order. "

"Mother, seriously," Kirsty said.

"Go now. Right, what can I get for you? Gina asked.

Winter turned to walk out, then turned back around. She is sorry for your daughters pain. It's not nice to be with someone and suddenly get dropped by them. She didn't know about Kirsty until coming here. Caspian left it out. He's in the wrong, not Kirsty.

"Thank you, luna, that's kind of you, but she shouldn't snap at you and be rude it's not your fault either."

No, but she can understand it. Thank you for the steaks. Have a nice day. She was walking to the fruit & vegetable stall, and her aunt was smiling. What?

"You, my niece, are going to make a brilliant Luna. Kind, understanding, it's truly beautiful to see. "

Thank you she could feel her cheeks were red. We got all the food. "I'll help you cook then leave you be," Connie said.

Thank you. The food was cooked and table set. She quickly got changed and freshed up. Dad was waiting downstairs. You behave.

"I'm always good," he smirked. DAD! "I will behave," Thank you.

She heard a knock, and it was Caspian and his mother. Oh, hello, Luna Hara. "Sorry I invited myself. I wanted to meet your father. I hope that's alright, " She asked.

Erm, yes, of course. Do you like steak? "Yes, I do thank you,"
