Elena felt as though her heart were about to leap straight out of her chest. Her entire frame shuddered violently, and a cold sweat broke out across her skin. Outside, the steady clicking of Victoria’s high heels grew terrifyingly closer to the hidden sanctuary. "Julian? Where are you? My flight was grounded because of the storm," Victoria’s exasperated voice echoed, reverberating clearly against the exterior wall. "Julian! For God's sake, Victoria is right out there! Let me go, she's going to find us!" Elena whispered, her voice practically vanishing under the weight of her panic. She pushed frantically against Julian’s broad chest, eyes darting to her clothes scattered carelessly across the floor. Instead of panicking, a dark, wicked smile curved across the man’s handsome features.
