I woke up finding myself on the floor. I grumbled sitting up slowly looking around. My vision was a bit hazy still but I could see some things they were just blurry and it was really bright in here. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes then blinked. I saw that my curtains was the problem. They were slightly open but also a light color so the light seeped through them easily. I stood up yawning and rubbed my back before stretching. "Morning sleepy head." Dad said popping his head in my room with a mug of coffee probably. "Morning." I mumbled rubbing my eye. "What time is it?" I asked pulling my cover back onto the bed as he checked his watch on his wrist. "Just know your not late for school." he said grinning and I groaned crawling back in bed. I completely forgot it was Sunday yesterday. The weekend went by so fast. "Get up." he said trying to tug the cover off me as I gripped it tight. "No school. I'm sick." I said fake coughing and I knew he was probably glaring down at me. He tugged the cover hard this time making me tumble out of bed tangled in the cover. He chuckled as I pouted getting up rubbing my back. "Get ready for school." he said yawning before leaving my room and I huffed heading into the bathroom. After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth, I was dressed, had decent hair and ready to go. I walked downstairs then into the kitchen. My mouth watered at the smell of biscuits. I sat at the table and dad placed a plate of two biscuits in front of me butter melting down on them with a side of syrup. I dug in as he poured me a glass of orange juice and placed it next to my plate. By the time I was done he was also done with his coffee so he got his keys and we were on our way to his car. "I'm scared." I said as dad drove to my school which was called East Town High School kind of sounded ordinary which I was far from it. "Take a deep breath Oakely." he said and I groaned but did as he said. Soon he parked in front of this huge building. Crowds of kids everywhere. I squirmed as dad handed me a paper that was my schedule. "Bye kiddo." he said before driving off and I just waved frozen in place. He could have walked me in...I guess that would be a bit embarrassing if he did though. I sighed putting my hand down and started walking towards the steps. My shoes and the ground I walked on seemed pretty interesting at the moment. I stared at them until I was up the steps and opened the door only to look down again once I was in the building. My first class was Algebra 2. I headed to room 209. I was the first student in class. I went to the middle section and took a seat next to the wall. The teacher seemed to be busy on their laptop. I played with my fingers looking down. A classroom with desks....lots of them. Meaning lots of kids. But this is school, a public school for that matter. A boy with mossy brown hair walked in. His blue brown eyes scanned the room then landed on me. I looked away quickly as he smiled walk in over. "I haven't seen you before." he said and I squirmed. "I-I'm new here." I mumbled and he nodded taking a seat next to me. "That's cool, don't stress out too much you'll be fine. Not everyone is mean plus this is high school, most people don't have time to bully." he said and I nodded relaxing slightly. I looked at his hair which was a nice color and so was his eyes. His hair was a bit long. He glanced at me as I was about to reach to touch his hair. My cheeks heated up and I put my hands down. "Sor-Sorry your hair is just.. so long." I said and he laughed as my cheeks heated up more. "You can touch it if you like." he said and I chewed my lip reaching out again as he smiled softly while I ran my fingers through it. "Woah it's soft." I said making him chuckle. "That it is." he said and I withdrew my hand before things got even more weird...and awkward as much as I already made it. "Sooo...what's your name?" I asked as he took a pencil and notebook out. "Victor but most call me Vic, what's yours?" he asked as he dug his hand through his backpack. "Oakely." I mumbled as he pulled a folder out and smiled. "Cool name." he said and I blinked surprised but soon smiled. "Thanks." I said and started to get a notebook, folder and pencil out as well. Their were no introductions for me being new at all. It was weird because that's how it happened in books for new kids. Yeah you can say I've been studying what life would be for me. The teacher helped me get ahead which her explaining helped me and I eventually got ahead with some understanding. She also got me a laptop and helped me set it up which I would might need in most of my classes plus to do homework sometimes. Eventually my next class came along which was Art. Lucky me, it was on the same floor. I headed to room 204. I picked a random table to sit at which was slightly in the middle of the classroom and near the teacher's desk. "Welcome." the teacher said smiling and I waved at him awkwardly. Soon a boy with black hair that went a bit farther then his shoulders walked in. He had blue eyes and a small lip piercing. He strolled over to the table I was at and sat across from me. "U-Uh hi." I said waving frantically and he glanced at me blinking before laughing making me frown slightly. "Hi." he said smiling softly and I smiled back. Eventually almost all the seats except for three were filled up. A boy with mustard colored hair ran in right before the bell rung. "I made it." he said panting and his cornflower blue eyes scanned the room for a seat. "You can sit at any table you like." the teacher said and the boy nodded smiling. "Oh, and hat off please." he told the boy and the boy pouted taking his orange news boy cap off before walking over to my table. "Can I sit here?" I heard him ask and I realized he was asking me, I was too busy looking at his eyes. "O-Oh um, yeah." I said feeling my cheeks heat up and he smiled before taking the seat next to me making me squirm. "We have two new students here today so welcome, I'm Mr.Kent." Mr.Kent said smiling before telling the whole class on what we would be doing today which would be pop art. "My name's Clyde, new kids gotta stick together." the boy sitting next to me said, moving his bangs out of his face laughing softly. "Oooh that's a nice name." I said smiling gently. "Thanks." he said grinning. "Cory." the boy sitting across from me said with his hand raised up slightly. "Cool." Clyde said then they looks at me making my cheeks heat up as I squirmed under their gazes. "So what's your name?" Cory asked. "Yeah." Clyde said smiling as he moved his bangs out of the way again. "Oak-Oakely." I said and Clyde grinned. "I like it. You both have way better names then me." Clyde said laughing. "Nuh uh." I said as Cory shot me a look. "No he's right my name is the shit." Cory said and Clyde and I blinked before Cory laughed making Clyde laugh as I giggled. That kinda caught me off guard. But they both seem like nice people. Maybe even potential friends. "I'm late I'm late, sorry." the boy from my class Algebra 2 said walking in panting softly as he went over to Mr.Kent's desk. Wait, our class is on the same floor. Shouldn't he been in the class by the same time I came in the class? "Late again Mr.Stein." Mr.Kent said shaking his head as Victor grinned sheepishly before glancing at me making my cheeks heat up and grinned more walking over. "Sup." he said sitting at the seat in for of me. Cory glanced at him then me. "Hey." I said softly as I waved awkwardly. "Welcome to the table." Clyde said tugging at his red leather gloves gently smiling up at him. "Thanks." Victor said grinning then glanced at Cory who worked on his pop art and I started to do the same. "Hi." he said and Cory glanced at him. "Hi..." Cory said then looked back down at his work. Awkwaaard, and I thought I was awkward. Eventually that class was over and I upstairs to Biology class which was room 324. I picked the table slightly in the farther back. I kinda had to jump up slightly to get on the stool. Clyde soon followed in and ran over grinning. Since he was shorter than me he had to put more effort to get up on the stool next to me making me giggle. His face looked flushed as he huffed and I smiled. Soon the class was filled and Cory was also in this class but he sat at another table with other people. It looked like he was in a group because the other people in the group looked similar to him. Kinda the same colors for clothing and hair. I glanced at Clyde and noticed we both pretty much wore bright colors. I squirmed, we would probably cause attention to ourselves wearing these colors. Ugh, and we're already new students. "Are you okay?" I heard a voice ask and turned to my right seeing Clyde stare at me frowning slightly. "O-Oh sorry I'm fine." I said giving him a reassuring smile. The class eventually started and Biology wasn't exactly boring the complete opposite actually. It was terrifying, for me. The teacher demonstrated something we would be doing tomorrow. She poured a green substance into a pink substance then poured a blue substance and boom, purple gas everywhere. The noise frighten me making me jump off the stool almost tumbling onto the floor. Everyone coughed and the teacher opened the windows while Clyde ran over turning on the fans. I was not going to be prepared tomorrow for that. I walked shakily down the hall then down the flights of stairs to the first floor to room 110 for my Photography 1 class. I walked past the teacher's desk looking down at my shoes before choosing a table to sit in the back. It was a long black table and I noticed their weren't that many tables. Only one chair was at each of the fourteen tables. I laid my backpack against the leg under the table then took a seat. Only one seat wasn't filled and I didn't know anybody in this class. The teacher talked about famous artists and then photographers. I took notes as everyone else listened. "Pay attention Denver." I looked up immediately at the mention of my last name and all eyes were on me making my face heat up. I was a new student and he already knew my name right off the bat. I squirmed under all the gazes. "I-I was just taking notes sir." I said softly. "Best to listen." he simply said then went back to talking. When that class was over I headed to lunch. I smiled when I saw Clyde and Cory in a line. Clyde was talking to him I think but it seemed like Cory had headphones in and was most likely listening to music. I got in lime with them and Clyde instantly welcomed me with a hug making my cheeks heat up. I didnt hug back but he was okay with that as he pulled away grinning. After getting out lunch Cory sat down and Clyde sat across from him as I sat next to Cory and in front of Clyde. Clyde opened his mouth about to say something when Victor sat next to him and across from me. "Sup guys." he said and I waved awkwardly as Cory nodded to his music not touching his food. "Hey." Clyde said and glanced at me making me blink. Were these signs? Cory did the same thing in art. Looked at Victor then me. What did this all mean??? Victor talked a lot while the rest of us ate quietly well except for Cory. I hummed and nodded to what Victor said so he knew I was listening. I glanced at Clyde who would always start to say something and Victor would go on and on. "Is he emo?" Victor asked pointing at Cory who bobbed his head to his music. "What's that?" I asked blinking. "Dont worry about it, but thats rude." Clyde said glaring at Victor who blinked and shrugged. "I just asked a question, what's the harm in that? Right Oakely?" Victor asked looking at me. "Uh-Uh um." I glanced back and forth at Clyde and him waving my hands around like a maniac. "Please don't put me in this." I finally said mumbling and sliding down in my seat with my cheeks heating up as they both laughed. I huffed pouting and crossed my arms as Cory paid no mind to us bobbing to his music. Eventually lunch was over and I headed up two flights of stairs to room 300 my English class. We were writing our own ten sentence story. Which was kinda difficult for me since writing was actually a passion of mine so I mostly wrote more than I needed for things. I finally wrote a ten sentence story which we would be sharing out tomorrow. My next class was band. I went to room 238 and had to get a form to order an instrument. "I'll show you two all the tricks since you both chose a saxophone as your instrument. Which is great because we need more people playing it besides two people." Victor said to Clyde and I. Victor played us a song that we'd be working on in class then a song he's working on in the Marching Band club. Eventually band was over and my last class which was an advance history class. The class was kinda boring but I made sure to take notes and pay attention. Soon school was over and I felt the cool air hit my face making me smile as I walked down the stairs. Clyde walked next to me as Victor walked ahead mostly chatting with people. Cory was way behind us listening to music most likely. I saw dad's car and waved goodbye to them before running to dad's car. "How was school kiddo?" dad asked when I got seated in the car and put my seatbelt on. "School was okay." I said as he drove off. "That's good, made any friends?" he asked. "I think so." I said furrowing my eyebrows. "You think so?" he said chuckling. "Well what would you like for dinner bug?" he asked and I hummed thinking. "How about tacos?" I asked getting my homework out and started working on it as I heard dad grimace. "Not really in the mood for them but sure bug." he said pulling over to Taco Bell. Dad ordered himself two hard tacos and two soft tacos then ordered me a soft taco. He both got us starburst drinks then drove us home. Lucky me I was smart and finished my Algebra 2 homework in the car. I sat on my bed criss cross applesauce turning on my phone with one hand and eating my sift taco with the other. I fumbled a bit with my phone but finally clicked on Featherbook. I went on my messages and text BookerBooker. CyberGeek: Hey, sorry just got out of school. I nibbled on my taxi then chewed waiting for a reply. I moved all around my bed as I waited. I checked the walls which were now dry. I laid my feet and legs on them while eating my taco. When I finished my taco I would turn my phone on and off waiting for it to vibrate. I pouted when I saw that at least six minutes had passed since I sent the message. Ugh I'm being weird, it's only six minutes. I sighed rolling over on my back with my phone laying by my side and hugged my pillow to my chest. Then why, does it feel so long? I buried my face in my pillow. I felt a vibrate and jumped out of my skin for a second. I panted from the scare and turned on my phone. I felt my cheeks rise and I knew I was smiling. Smiling way too much, but he answered. BookerBooker: Hey there :) how w... The rest didn't show on the screen. I clicked it instantly going to my messages. BookerBooker: Hey there :) how was school? Sorry I replied late I'm sick so I've been sleeping most of the day. Plus I'm on my laptop getting school work done that I missed. I frowned, aw man I'm probably getting in the way of his homework. And he's sick, poor Bookie. I giggled at the nickname then mentally face palmed. Your such a creep Oakley. CyberGeek: Awwwie I'm sorry I hope you feel better and school was okay. I think I was awkward and weird the whole time but I believe I might of made some friends. I smiled at the last part and sent it. I laid my back against two pillows hugging another pillow. I hummed smiling as I waited for his reply. BookerBooker: :) Thanks and of course you probably did, nice funny people are easy to get a long with and make friends easily I believe. I felt my cheeks heat up as I read the message. I buried half of my face into the pillow. My heart flipped and flopped. CyberGeek: Uwa Thanks BookerBooker: Haha your welcome and uwa? *quirks an eyebrow* My cheeks heated up more and I huffed. I hit my face with the pillow lightly. CyberGeek: I knoooow it's a weird noise I make *pouts* BookerBooker: Haha ah, okay. He thinks I'm weird. I just know it. I grumbled falling back on my bed. Ugh, I'm so bad with people. I hugged my pillow close to my chest before laying it there and replied. CyberGeek: You think I'm weird don't you? I stared at the screen. I took a deep breath closing my eyes. Of course he does. What kind of stupid question was that? I felt it vibrate and I opened my eyes as the screen flashed slightly. BookerBooker: Yes I do.... I frowned slightly. I should have known...I did know right? So why does it sting....sting in the heart. I clicked on the message and my eyes widen. BookerBooker: Yes I do, definition of W.E.I.R.D: Wonderful, Exciting, Interesting, Real, Different
