"Damn you, Hunter!" I burst out between clenched teeth. The pain had reached a new level. Hunter, standing by my side holding my hand, looked pale and guilty. Served him right! Had he put me in this damn situation!
"Don't complain, Pearl. Breathe!" Jessie said in a commanding tone. "With the next contraction you can start to push."
